There are quite a few. As to be expected. But I think one of the first ones was 'Wahlverwandtschaften' (Elective Affinities) by Goethe to realise how within all our good wishes and wills we still keep ripping each other's hearts out. Then, Rilke's Letters to a young poet, to understand the distance between each and everyone around us. And finally, The Seducer's Diary by Kierkegaard.
Put these together, and most of what you will read afterwards will make sense.

If you go here to the Facebook Fanpage http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Philosophers-Attic/383790319808 you should find a button that says "Become Fan" (in English, it can say something different if you've set your main language to something else), somewhere close to the main title. Click on it and you're good to go. Optionally, if you cannot find that button, scroll down to the bottom and you'll see that the fanpage is organised in two columns. The left hand one has as last item a 'Share' button and right on top of that button there is also a link to 'become a fan' of the page. I hope this helps!
