(4) depends on the situation. Sometimes winning or losing doesn't matter. Sometimes losing is better than winning. Sometimes winning doesn't feel like winning at all, might end up losing anyway. Sometimes losing suck, and there's only one way to make you feel better, it's to win. To choose one answer is absurd.
