      Why has Perl been your weapon of choice for DDG? What advantages does it offer than other programming languages can not match or not as well?

      It is my default language. I use a lot of CPAN modules. Honestly, I'm not sure how easy or hard it would be in other languages, but I suspect the text processing stuff would be more annoying.

      why is DDG not better looking than it currently is? do you not see the advantage of taking some advice from designers or UI guru to improve your service?

      I'm curious about logging traffic. Many sites advertise the fact that they do not log traffic. What exactly does this mean? How can you tell how frequently your site is being utilized without analytics? How do I prevent logging on my own website?
