on formspring? actually, just one person who stopped posting. i don't come onto formspring for anything but to answer questions.

not so much angry complaints as subtle derision for the decision. i've been told that it doesn't matter (gender, or my decision), and that people will think of me however they want, regardless. oh well.

well...seeing how i have three holes in each ear and a tattoo circling my right calf two inches below the knee...i'd have to say i'm pretty much for them. -laughs- i'm also considering getting a tattoo (or a pair, actually) on my ear.

my tattoo says, "Because it is bitter and because it is my heart." it's based on this poem:

      In the Desert

      In the desert
I saw a creature, naked, bestial,
      Who, squatting upon the ground,
Held his heart in his hands,
      And ate of it.
I said: "Is it good, friend?"
      "It is bitter—bitter," he answered,
      "But I like it
      Because it is bitter,
And because it is my heart."

      -Stephen Crane (1895)

I myself have situations where I skip parts of someone's work, so I don't expect every person to read every single word or chapter of my own. Would I prefer it? Of course. But it doesn't bother me--I put up those kinds of warnings or notes for that purpose.

Thank you for asking this! It really made me stop and think a moment.

At any rate, you remind me that Arranged Marriage needs a major overhaul/face-lift. -laughs- I'll just put that on my long list of required revisions.

as xanthofile, i prefer to remain 'genderless', so as to leave the reader unbiased. perhaps it is a small thing, but i feel people engage in works differently when they know the gender of the author.

however. i don't mind what pronouns people use in reference to me--i get an equal mix of male and female pronoun usage, and neither bothers me. on the whole, i've noticed people tend to use the pronoun they identify with.

...i do get this question often, but that's to be expected when i never specify, so no apologies are necessary. -grins-

huh. i am pretty aware how awesome i am, overall, but it's rare for others to acknowledge it. -laughs- and now that i sound completely full of myself, i thank you for the compliment.

i've had some ideas for Stepbrothers floating around in my head the past few weeks, but my writing attentions have been stolen by a new story i'm calling Pudge. it's about a guy who's always idolized the best friend of his older brother and chronicles his journey from a sci-fi-geek freshmen in high school to a tattooed janitor in his twenties.

i'm close to the end of it so i'll probably begin posting it online within the next month. afterward, my plan is to write some Saul and Danny, don't worry. (that story is in its final third as well, actually.)

Oh, wow, the postcard fic is mega old. i'd forgotten all about it! thanks for the reminder--i'll have to go back and reread it. there might be a rewrite/expansion there somewhere.

but as to the writer's block: no, actually, i have not. i just haven't been writing on things already posted on fp. currently, i'm rewriting something from my early days of writing. i hope to have it finished within the next couple of weeks, at which point i will post it online.

i have also been working on several other projects, such as a story based on the song Funny DJ by Gummibar, two rewrite projects (Pleasure In A Stall, and Pony), and the new chapter of Stepbrothers.

This is actually a really great question, because it made me recall an old story I hadn't read in a very long time. Thank you. As for the answer to why Erin isn't with Any...I wrote the story based on the song.

Andy You're A Star is a song about admiring someone from afar with just a hint of shared familiarity in the past or knowledge of some secret. It's somewhat of a love song with a touch of melancholy. I expanded on this by having Erin be a character who doesn't form attachments to people or things. Maybe he would, in the future, but this story is about a time where he almost formed attachment but never let it stay.

Andy was just a human, and like most humans, he gave up after being rebuffed too many times by someone who, in all appearances, was cold and aloof. He moved on.

my bank account. the word count on an old story. the amount of music in my computer's library.

      the usual.

...probably pirates, but only because they're more colorful in personality. what can you talk about with a ninja? how many times they've burgled a place without being caught? hm. and you never know when they're coming or going.

i am still halfway through the next chapter, but i'm working on it continuously all the time. sooo...yes. eventually.

that turtle is one i found with my sister the last time we both saw our great-grandmother alive. the turtle was big for a box turtle, and intensely heavy. it reminded me of one i had when i was young, four or so.

and, thank you. i do my best. ::bows::

Stepbrothers is not finished yet, no. I really meant to work on it more this summer, but other stories have been hogging my attention, even now. I really hope to have another chapter up before September, but at the rate I'm going now, I'm tentative with that deadline.

i have a lot of favorite lyrics, and they're transitory in the extreme--meaning, they're typically those i've listened to recently. as in the song Sloprano, from the Conker's Bad Fur Day video game.

my most annoying habit? ...i guess being spiteful or cutting without really meaning to be.

i'm not sure the last thing to make me laugh. the last thing i can recall, however, is watching a movie with my younger brother, and our commentary was almost as amusing as the movie was bad.

i hate cooking. but i bake. mostly carrot cake with pineapple cream cheese frosting, or Dr. Pepper cake (Coca-cola cake substituted). i also make killer banana bread, with or without chocolate chips/walnuts.

i also make no-bake cookies and chocolate gravy. i guess you could call that cooking, because they're made on the stove, not in the oven.

well, i haven't stepped in front of a fast-moving bus, so i assume i'm living as of yet.
