Aw jeez, Wordpress is WAY too vulnerable. This is the third time this has happened to the site! Hopefully it's fixed now, but please don't hesitate to let me know if there are still problems or if it ever happens again.

You've pretty much nailed it, actually. Xan is warming up to Kari a little after she saved both his and Rio's lives, but he has a lot more trouble figuring out how to relate to her. It's much easier to just pick on Aiden instead.

AW I'm so glad to hear you have feels for my comic! I'll be posting more about book 2 soon- I sold out at spx so I'm waiting for my next batch of books to arrive.

And yes, you will see more of Fiona, although it may not be for a while!

Ooh, I hadn't actually made that connection to Kirin, but I like that! Mostly though, I don't really have a very well thought out answer for you on it- I mostly went on gut instinct designing them, and tweaked features based on what felt "right ." I wanted them to be mammalian predators, so they ended up kind of being a mix of individual features I thought would work, while still feeling cohesive. I wanted something sort of "cute" and reassuring, but still with the potential for menace.

And you are right! The Blue dragon is a pretty typical western style dragon, whose features I try to make clear by extrapolation of what we see on the Princes.

It did have a forum, but it got taken over by spam bots to the point that it became unmanageable. If the interest is there I could consider an alternative though!

Aw, thank you! I'm glad to hear it conveys! Having well-rounded characters is important to me, and I try really hard to make sure I can connect with them well enough to write the characters properly. Generally, I will try to give each character I write at least one characteristic that I have in common with them, even if it's completely abstracted. I think having some sort of common ground creates a relatability, and makes it easier to get into the right "mindset" to write them?
I think it's especially good to make sure to do this with antagonists, because it prevents having strawman enemies. Everybody's actions are justified in their own minds. If you can see where they're coming from with their motives, it makes them feel more multifaceted.

Um, I'm actually not sure how much I can talk about PK yet! I'm going to talk to Ahvia to see how she feels about opening the Tumblr for asks, but since it's so early on in the story, there might be a lot that we can't answer yet.

Oh no, I'm sorry! Currently I am updating on Tuesdays only, but in October I'm going to resume Tuesday and Thursday updates. I had to cut it down for a little bit to handle some other things, but I should be back on track soon!

To be honest, I can't say I've really considered regional music styles! Since comics are entirely visual, I unfortunately skimp on some of the aspects like that. SOMEBODY'S gotta be heavy on fiddle though, because I love that kind of thing. Maybe Lavelle, so I can totally mess up drawing it in the background sometime!

I am 10000% ok with a fanmix on the condition that you share with me what you pick! I'm always looking for more music for a Lavelle playlist, and I LOVE seeing what people relate it to.

He has been mistaken for a female gard by both gard and humans, but for different reasons! By humans, it's because he is shorter of stature and seems to have a much slighter frame than a human male. By gard, it's because the permanent removal of his antlers is basically a symbolic emasculation- he might actually be considered a woman in the eyes of gard society now because of it.
Anyway, Xan has some weird hangups about femininity. Traditional masculinity is more of his ideal- it's both what he's attracted to and what he wants to be. He sees femininity as a lack of masculinity, and it makes him uncomfortable because he doesn't know how to deal with it. I feel this might also be a reason that he butts heads with Fiona???

idk, he and I are both pretty dumb about this kind of thing!

MAN, this is a really interesting question that could be taken a lot of ways. Is this a situation where the entire cast is born/identified as the opposite gender, or just one character at a time? I feel like that would change how to approach this question.

Hahah, and herein lies the flaws of Formspring answering things that haven't come up in story yet! A lot of the stuff that gets answered here is really far down the line and I rewrite pretty constantly, so I'd say things I say here are pretty highly subject to change. Nothing is 100% canon until it comes up in story!

Let's see! ACTUALLY, Rio prefers strong-willed, outspoken ladies. Generally they're more feminine, but he's gone against type a few times. Xan likes traditionally handsome, athletic men- he also thinks scars are pretty hot. Kari seems to be pretty drawn to the sensitive artist type. Aiden kind of likes sassy ladies with a sarcastic sense of humor, I think? I don't know, he's a little harder to pin down. Ashton likes basically everybody who is nice to him.
