I do basic blemish removal in Lightroom, and if needed, some softening work in Photoshop when it comes down to more advanced editing. Generally I can clean it all up in Lightroom though. Rarely do I take a basic edit into PS.

Under most circumstances, unlikely, unless it is inches from the subject, then... maybe? I've piled 2-3 strobes behind an umbrella to overpower the sun... It works, but not ideal.

Absolutely not! I have no interest of putting a woman half naked & sexually posed in front of my camera. Women are people, and deserved to not be treated as "sex toys" but rather loved and respected as people! I wouldn't want another photographer taking boudoir photos of my sisters, would you?

I think what makes me unique as a photographer is that I am never completely satisfied with my work or look. I never play it safe, which generally results in something unique or simple. I currently learning to step out of the photo and try to reflect my love for God by loving the people through my photography by making the photo about the story of the person in the photograph, rather than just how good of a photographer I am. There is no reason for me to stand in the way of a story.

If you have no budget, bounce off the walls. If you can get a light modifier, there is a bunch of options. If you want to keep the flash on your camera (if you don't have an assistant to hold lights for you) then Gary Fong has some sweet tools: http://www.garyfongestore.com/
...or you can go the route of indirect light using stands and umbrellas. -
Yeah, it does go by stops, but think of it more as tweaking the camera's exposure. Getting the exposure correct in the camera before taking the photograph will result in a MUCH better exposed photo and will give you even more space to tweak. Although, when shooting RAW it does give you a lot of space to tweak, don't depend on Lightroom to fix your photos.

Started with Canon, went to Nikon, then back to Canon. Why? Because of other people's suggestions until the final switch. I went back to Canon after a hiatus from photography where I sold all of my Camera gear. I chose the superior video quality of the Canon 5D Mark II with the full frame sensor to create the look that I had been wanting for video since I stopped doing video in 2005. Since, the Canon 5D Mark II has been used for TV shows, film, and lots of commercial videos and I have re-implemented video and returned to photography.

Depends on the person. If it is an old person where that is a feature of their face, then yes. If the bags or dark spots are in result to me messing up on lighting then yes. Fashion photography is a whole different ball game. It's more just a fun time to really tweak someone's look. But, I honestly haven't done any fashion stuff in a while because I felt like I was faking portraits and not really telling a humble story, but rather trying to tell a selfish story. I have been experimenting a lot with documentary styled portraits lately, that result in less editing, depending on what the person looks like in real life. Long answer short, yes and no.

I would much rather just blog about every photo shoot that I do, generally it's when the photo gets posted onto my web site portfolio that I put up a blog about it's existence. Kind of highlighting the new photos in a way rather than just making blogs of tons of photos. I am very selective, and usually too busy working on projects to really keep my web site up to date. I am trying my best though to bring new content as much as possible!

I give clients watermarked images mainly for when using on Facebook. I try to keep my watermark as small as possible, and I am still trying to perfect the size ratio to the image. The LAST thing that I want to do is ruin an image by making my logo a distraction. I have been up in the air on watermarking, and just kinda of do it by default. I give my clients option to not have the watermark.

I haven't really done much research on the 480 vs the 430, so my opinion may be inaccurate. But, the 480 probably has more power, and also has a PC-Port. Which in the pocketwizard world, is very beneficial, but now the PC-Port is much less critical to off camera flash. So, it really comes down to power and cost. You may find that the 480 has a lot of cooler features, but read some reviews from www.dpreview.com and see if you even need them.

Find out what their direction is for their career, and base the photos around that. I haven't done too many head shots for actors, but I've done a lot of portraits. If you create a look that mimics the style of movies they are interested in, then they'll hopefully catch the attention for that specific genre. Other than that, take good photos, with good light, and make sure it's in focus. :^)

I'm sure she is a very kind woman who loves photography.

Honestly, I've kinda detached myself from the gear. It would be nice to have some better gear to help support my video side of my work. Camera wise, having a RED camera at my disposal would be nice, but I think too distracting in some ways. I've been learning to be more simple, smaller foot print to create my projects with more sincerity.

I've got an HTC Evo (my cell phone) and my Canon 5D Mark II with one lens: Canon 24-70mm 2.8L.

I think that any teenager who considers themselves as "up and coming" has got their head on backwards. The photographer isn't the star of any photo shoot, in fact, they are the slave of the photo shoot. Once it gets to that point, the photographer isn't capturing the subject, they are just trying to reflect themselves. In my perspective, once a photographer reaches that "stardom" then they are obviously off track and need to go back to the basics.

Interesting. If I had the opportunity I am not sure if I would do it. It's difficult to do a photo shoot without making the person feel "center of attention" and I wouldn't want to give him the pleasure. Probably shoot it out of focus or without him being aware of it. All natural light, nothing spectacular and hopefully miserable to him. But, honestly, I would rather not have to deal with such an odd photo shoot.

LOL, I never thought of that! Gumby? My hair is different every day, but I decided since i can never get it to go down the middle, if i throw it off to the side it looks more intentional. @:^)

I like to get attention in awkward and strange ways.

Nikon is a great company, I've shot with both the Nikon D200 and D300 before switching to a Canon 5D Mark II. Do I have anything against Nikon? NOPE! Does the camera matter for making a great photo? Not really, unless you are going for a very specific look. If that's the case, you are too picky! Learn how to use what you've got better than anyone else!
