I too was surprised by the lack of a suspenseful season-ending, but I am confident that there'll be one more season with 13 exciting episodes next year, see this:

Also I really suspect the "coming ones" are the Observers (due to the one dangling episode they left of the future where they'd taken over the world and Peter met his daughter. -
