I am working on a medical unit at a small community hospital that's very diverse (one reason I'm excited about it!), which basically means the patients have a variety of illnesses: congestive heart failure, recovering from heart attacks, pneumonia, cancer, kidney disease and more - those are just the most common ones.
I wouldn't say I decided upon this field as much as it decided on me. :) The job presented itself, and I wanted a well rounded experience for my first job in nursing - and this one definitely will be. Ultimately, I'm hoping to practice in obstetrics - but right now, I'm so happy to be where I am. I wanted that foundational experience that will enhance my assessment skills and this is it. -
Thanks!
Hmm... I hope I'm understanding your question...
I just try to start out with the best possible lighting, which is never full sun, and always mostly shade (if shooting outdoors) and then I edit very lightly using Lightroom after I take the photo. I usually just increase the exposure a bit if it's too dark, maybe mess with the contrast and the colors, but very often just leave it mostly alone.
I love simple photography, and have recently discovered these two blogs whose photography styles I really love:
www.katiespencilbox.com
http://www.roostblog.com/
Their photography is clean and well styled, which is my favorite. I'm really not drawn to a ton of editing or Photoshop effects.
I hope I answered your question... if you have more, feel free to ask! -
If you're able to thread your machine and sew a straight line, you can totally do the tutorial! When I taught it in person, those were my two requirements for students and they did AMAZINGLY well. Hope you do try it!

Yes, thanks for asking! A tornado touched down a couple miles from our house and flipped some cars and moved our good friends' trampoline onto a neighbor's roof two houses down... But as far as I heard, everyone is ok!

Those are super cute! Not sure I'm quite brave enough to do them yet, but maybe soon. :) Thanks for passing it along!

Those are beautiful!
We are hoping to find out if baby is a boy or girl around June 8, so we may announce what we're thinking after that. :) -
Hi Renee, Hope you love Franklin when you visit! To be honest, besides the chains, there really isn't much that's gluten free friendly around here. Most everything "local" is deep fried with biscuits and cornbread on the side. :) But we often visit Joe Naturals in Leiper's Fork which has some good options. And Dumplins in downtown Franklin has a GF menu and always a GF soup of the day. Also, Stoney River is good for steaks, though I know that's a chain. There's a pizza place called Brixx that has a gluten free crust. Oh and the Pad Thai at Jasmine (really close to Prairie Life) is made without soy sauce and I have not gotten sick. I hope that helps! We eat out a lot but it's usually at chains (Chipotle, Noodles & Co, Carrabba's) where I know I'll be safe.

I know it's so easy to feel that pressure, especially at a Christian college where it seems like everyone is dating, getting engaged, or getting married (I remember).
I would just say use this precious time that you have of being single to really pursue the Lord and the things He has for you. Do you feel called to go on a mission trip? Do it! Plan on writing a book, running a marathon, etc. etc.? Now's the time. If God has someone for you, He'll clearly show you... you don't have to wait around or look real hard.
I'll pray for you today that you'll find contentment and peace in your singleness and that if it's God's will, He'll bring along the perfect person (He can easily do that!). :) -
We love it most for smoothies (and use it every day for that purpose), but we also use it as a coffee grinder, using the flat blade (works GREAT!) - and I make salad dressing in it quite frequently. With those three uses, we use it at least once or twice a day!

That has to be tough... I would say keep things as simple as possible (i.e. not packaged/processed food where you have to read a million ingredients). For carbs, he can still have rice, potatoes, corn tortillas. You could try plain fruit or veggies (even with a ranch dip maybe?), yogurt, cheese, any kind of beans. I hope that helps!
PS - Since my little not-yet-born baby has a 50% chance of being allergic to gluten just like me, this is good for me to think about! Thanks! :) -
Right now, just reading my Bible and sometimes reading Streams in the Desert by L.B. Cowman. Focusing on one chapter at a time and really meditating on even one verse throughout the day can be such an encouragement.

Of course! I'd be honored.
