Alot of atheist organizations are demanding the removal of religious symbols and words from public land. dosn't this infringe on the religous freedom of families who wish a cross as a memory marker? ie cross on the highway.
The key is the phrase "public land." People can put their favorite symbols on private property paid for with their own money, but when they try to put religious symbols on public land we all pay for, that's a problem. No private citizen has a right to expect his or her preferred religious symbols on public land.
