That would depend on what is meant by "family oriented." If one has a family, it makes sense that one would care about one's family. I think that couples trying to have as many children as possible seems a bit dated.

One can find sociopaths in all walks of life. I don't imagine they would make very effective dental assistants.

I have not had a vasectomy because I am not sexually active. If I was, I would certainly consider it.

As a psychologist, I would be very surprised if that was an accurate statement. Not only would I question how they have defined and measured "ego trip," but I'd be very suspicious of any social science researcher who had claimed to "prove" anything, since that generally is not how science works.

Sorry to hear about your son. There should be lots of non-religious resources, ranging from reputable books on grief to professional counseling and support groups. I'm not sure of any specific titles to recommend, but I bet you'll be able to find something. I might start by checking some of the big non-religious groups to see what they might recommend (e.g., humanist and freethought groups).

I don't think we can rescue the religious until they decide to question their beliefs. I suppose you could share an atheist book, but it might end up burning.

That's a tough one, but yes, I believe I would say that. Capitalism has done some good, but I think it has probably been more destructive than beneficial.
