off the top of my head i can think of a few unnecessary things:
making beds (right? wait isn't that where this question stemmed from?)
bottled water (although i drink it all the time, it's not NECESSARY)
ADD meds in MOST cases
double-blending frappuccinos
that's all -
there are a few things in life that people do often that are simply unnecessary. washing cars is one. making beds is another example.
