Yes, I am indeed a girl. Thus why I have the username Trekkie/queen/. But you can call me Christine.

First of all, allow me to apologize for not getting back to your question right away. I was out-of-town for a week.

Aha, well, maybe you're just not looking hard enough, my friend. ;3 As for your inquiry about the quote, I think that "Laws change, depending on who's making them, but justice.. is justice," spoken by Odo off of DS9, is the greatest 'Trek quote ever. But that's just my opinion.

Not really much of a question I can answer, but thanks for stopping by to ask one anyways!

On Star Trek, it's known as the "Vulcan salute". If you're using the various series as references, it's usually followed by the words "Peace and long life" or "Live long and prosper" (the latter is more commonly heard).

It is actually inspired by a traditional Hebrew blessing and was brought up during production of the first season or so of Star Trek by Leonard Nimoy. Since then, it's stuck to the series like super-glue!

The salute was used by almost every major Vulcan character in the franchise, and hopefully many more times in the future.

      Hope that was enlightening!

Well, I would probably have to say Star Wars. I mean, think about it: Lightsabers, that torture chamber thing that basically turns you into a rock, strangling someone with the force... It gets pretty ugly. Not to mention the death star is really, really powerful!

However, it's important to look at Star Trek, too. In the "Deep Space Nine" series, there is a massive war. Actually, TWO wars occurred during the series. At the end of DS9, there is a massive attack on a planet known as Cardassia, and 400 million civillians are killed... but that was just the first of the attack. There was also a plan to commit genocide against an entire species. Also, many of the interrogation processes, especially by Section 31 and a species knows as Cardassians got pretty ugly.

Oh, and there's that incident in the most recent Star Trek movie in which Nero causes the planet Vulcan to implode, causing the deaths of at least a billion people.

If you ask me, they're both pretty darn violent. Star Wars might win out in terms of general war, but war's ugly any way you put it!

Unfortunately, there were only three seasons. It was cancelled after "Turnabout Intruder".

But it was more than people thought they were going to get! After two seasons, a lead writer of Star Trek threatened to leave if Paramount didn't allow more time and money for episodes to be made. Well, Paramount refused, so he had to go ahead and leave despite what he really wanted. Still, fans were begging for a third season, so they got it... despite how it wasn't really all that great. It was tough enough getting through season three, and then everything shut down after that.

About five years later, they did make an Animated Series to chronicle the continuation of the "five-year mission". It isn't considered that great by some fans, but it did go on to win an Emmy. It's.. interesting.

And, of course, after that came several movies, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise.

    6. Christine

Well, I actually started with the movies, but where you start doesn't really matter.

The series generally don't intersect all that much, so you could start any of them independently if you like. The Original Series (or, TOS, with Kirk of course) is the easiest to find, because it's all over Youtube.

As for the other sequel series (The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager), they all take place around the same point in time. With those, I suggest just starting with the pilot episode and going through the series as you please. TNG can usually be found on SyFy channel, so that's pretty simple. VOY is on Spike TV late at night, so it's a little less convenient! DS9, though, you'll have to hunt a little for.

Enterprise (ENT) is the newest series, and I think looks the best, but it's actually a prequel to the original Star Trek. I love it because it's very different, but you'll just have to see for yourself. And with ENT, don't go just by the few episodes you see at the start, because seasons 3 and 4 are incredible. It's often on weekdays on SyFy channel.

So, really, just start wherever you please. If you like a series, keep with it. Don't like it, don't bother.

First of all, why would they fight each other in the first place? Most likely, provided the two galaxies and time lines even MET, the Jedi would side with the Federation, and the Sith with the Romulans, Borg, etc. The Borg would probably assimilate/collaborate with the Sith and then go and take over the entire galaxy. The end.

But I digress. To answer your question:

Yes, it is true that the Force is a powerful and formidable ability to have. Yes, the Death Star is HUGE. But Star Trek ships can go a whopping nine times the speed of light, much faster than any Star Wars vessel. They are also equipped with more advanced weaponry. Not to mention the Federation is HUGE, as is the Dominion and the Romulan Star Empire. Even if the Star Wars people won by fire, they don't have the biggest advantage:

      The Q.

The Q, in Star Trek, are a race of god-like beings. They are omnipotent. They have to merely think about something and it happens. Just like that. All they would have to do is snap their fingers and all the Star Wars characters would disappear from existence.

It's not fair, but with the Q, Star Trek wins hands-down. Again, though, I don't see why they'd fight each other in the first place.

First of all, let me say that with Deep Space Nine, you should make your own opinion. It has a huge war the last two seasons, which I think is really neat, but it's all a matter of perspective. I happen to think DS9 has some fantastic moments.

But to answer your question... There are no new Star Trek TV shows coming out... officially. There is, however, a rumour that SyFy (originally Scifi Channel) is planning for a new space opera (AKA a show like Star Trek). There's a small, small possibility that it could be taking up a new Star Trek. This is, again, just a rumour, so don't get your hopes up!

For now, I say continue with Voyager and check out DS9, which I think had a great cast. Also check out Enterprise, which was headed by some of the same writers who did Voyager. Heck, try everything. It's fun.

Well, really, you could probably find them anywhere. Just look for tight, stretchy black pants. (Ladies' section works well.) If you want the official pants, I suggest trying Startrek.com, Amazon.com, or Ebay... If you're desperate. Also try sites that sell costumes; you could probably find some there.

Just a warning: If you use a website, you'll pay more because (A) it's official and (B) you have to pay for shipping and handling.

    10. Christine

      I'll tell you. :3 For the series..es:

      Star Trek (The Original Series)

      Star Trek: The Next Generation
      Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
      Star Trek: Voyager
Star Trek: Enterprise (a prequel series to the Original series)

      The movies went:

      Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
      Star Trek: Generations
      Star Trek: First Contact
      Star Trek: Insurrection
      Star Trek: Nemesis
Star Trek (2009) (A prequel to all these)

    11. Christine

She was known to the crew of the USS Voyager as "Seven of Nine", but most just called her "Seven". Her original name given to her as a human at birth was "Annika", but she basically lost her identity after being assimilated into the collective of a malevolent species known as the Borg. She was later rescued and de-assimilated by Voyager's crew. She still, however, retained the eye piece from her time as a Borg.

Seven was played by Jeri Ryan.

    12. Christine

Well, you can start anywhere, really. I would suggest starting with the pilot episode if you're going to watch Next Generation, Voyager, Deep Space Nine, or Enterprise. If you're going to start with the Original Series... Well... The pilot wasn't that good, but anywhere in the first season is fine.

If you want to get into the Original Series just generally, though, I would suggest one of the movies, or really even the new one. It's an alternate timeline, but not everything's different. A good movie to start with would be The Wrath of Khan or the 2009 movie!

To watch them, I suggest http://Youtube.com or http://Tv-links.eu . Those are my top two!

I love them both, but I love Star Trek just a little more. It feels closer to home and all-around more meaningful, but Star Wars (IV-VI) was also very impressive.

    15. Christine

Unfortunately, you can't just by looking at her uniform. While it's pretty clear that she holds the rank of Lieutenant (as she is addressed in the film), there is no indication on her attire of her rank. This is probably a stretch, but there's a strong possibility Uhura has an alternate uniform; one with long sleeves and her rank on the sleeves (as seen on other officers and, of course, in TOS).
Hope that helps at least a little!

    16. Christine

Hm... I take great pride in faces. Let's go with the latter. But why can't I just work off all the extra pounds, eh? I have a YMCA membership.

Gosh... that's a hard one. Let's say... Zachary Quinto, for now. But Jeffrey Donovan and a few others are up there, too.
