Interesting question... the first thing that comes to mind is osmosis, but only if I could define where the high- and low water potential areas would be. Barring that, I think it would be by conduction, another energy balancing move.

I vaguely remember being brought to piano lessons when I was 5 or 6… I don't think it lasted very long, but I distinctly remember getting a composition assignment using only the black keys. I didn't do the assignment but I improvised what I thought was a very cool song and the teacher asked, "did you write that?" and I said, "yep."
