      I was routinely terrorized by Hippy, our short-haired daschund growing up. Hippy would frequently growl and snap at his devoted caregivers. When sleeping on the couch and, if disturbed for a walk, growl and bite any innocent family member. We became habituated to tipping the back the sofa to avoid this trauma. A quick learner, Hippy would quickly rise from slumber and hurl himself at the sofa tipper with teeth gnashing.
