i have one already, but i can tell you what i'm going to get.
getting a portrait of Dita Von Teese done at the end of the year. SO KEEN OMG.

not at all, the LGBTIQ community needs as many allies as it can get. i think it's organisations like FCKH8, (while they do have good tees) that discourage straight allies, and it's unfortunate, because yes while the majority of our supporters are LGBTIQ, we need allies to help spread the message. of course everyone has different spheres of influence that's why i think allies are important.
at the same time, just because you're LGBTIQ, doesn't mean you have to support the cause, and by that i mean, advocating, being an activist or so on.
unfortunately it's a very 'club' based mentality, like you're being a poser if you're straight and you support LGBTIQ rights, but there are a lot of people i know, straight or otherwise you support the cause because they're fighting for the injustice that the LGBTIQ community suffers. just because they don't have a problem getting married doesn't mean they can't help us.
that was my long winded answer. and i stress that these are my opinions and that i obviously don't speak on behalf of the entire community. so there you are. hope that sorted things out for you. (i suppose you wish you weren't so curious to know, now that you have to read that really long answer) -
