I used to have to wake up and deliver newspapers BEFORE getting on the school bus at 6:30 AM sharp. The bus ride took a full 90 minutes because of a compromise the city made with the parents of children who attend private school. They basically said, "we will bus your kids but they aren't gonna like it." We did not like it.

Most mornings I would climb on the bus and get a few minutes of blissful rest before a pair/trio of extremely loud middle school girls climbed on around 6:55. We would beg them to stop screeching but they refused. Eventually I learned to tune out even the most obnoxious screeches and I was able to get an additional 90 minutes of sleep on the bus every morning.

This experience has left me with the ability to fall asleep basically anywhere at any time if I am tired. This is extremely useful when travelling or when you find yourself in unorthodox accommodations. So thanks, screeching middle school girls, for teaching me how to sleep even under the most stressful conditions.

I just started playing with Civ V, I have been having a lot of fun. I have heard that the current iteration is kind of skewed toward having a huge military which is a criticism I agree with. Even if you are going for a cultural or science victory you have to maintain a fairly large military just to avoid getting crushed by the computer opponents.

I had extremely short hair for awhile but I think I'm going to grow it out.

In Florida one guy just disappeared. We all figured he was either dead or in jail. Nobody cared to verify which one. We had another guy get arrested for kidnapping in the parking log, but I guess that's more like getting fired than quitting.
