Hmm... that's a tough question. First of all, defining success is a complicated topic. What can be viewed as success for one artist certainly might not be for another.
But in terms of an artist who I thought might become globally "Big", I would have to say it's Billy Talent. They've been around for ages, work their asses off, have killer songs and amazing live performances, are stars in Canada and quite well known in Europe... but America has absolutely no clue who they are. Hopefully that'll change with their upcoming album! -
Be super polite and nice to them. #IAmCanadian

The one that I have in my brain that I haven't told anyone about yet...
-
I most certainly have... I've been planning one for awhile now, just need to find a good developer to partner with.

my faves change all the time, but to be honest... most of what I've been reading lately has been either music biographies or marketing. no fiction at all in the past little while... other than the Dan Brown novels.
but... here's some recent faves:
non-fiction: Crush It, Gary Vaynerchuk
fiction: Ishmael, Daniel Quinn
guilty pleasure: tmz ;) -
1. No teeth.
2. Is an octogenarian.
3. Doesn't like dogs. -
Move to Mexico and sell grilled fish on a stick on a beach to sexy tourists.

I'm 5'8".
Not short.
Not tall.
Just right... -
Yes, I love cats too. I have (had) a cat... but unfortunately he went with my ex after the split up, while I kept the dog.

Savory. I try to avoid sugar.

An artist doesn't have to pay SOCAN anything when they post their music for either streaming or download online, that's not what they're meant for.
But if you're a member of SOCAN, you will receive royalty payments from them when your songs are aired in 'public performances' in Canada and internationally, such as on radio, TV, and film.
Also, if you're not already a member of SoundExchange and the Harry Fox Agency, do so now... you might even have some money waiting for you! -
I think I just crapped my pants.

Well here at home in Vancouver, both are side by side :)

My fear is so irrational that it really makes no sense. I have ziplined and loved it. I have parasailed and loved it. I have flown tons and tons and tons of times. No problems, no fear... nothing.
But... the glass floor of the CN Tower? No way. Not a chance.
Or leaning over the edge of a balcony on the 24th floor? Not going to happen.
Or how about walking across a suspension bridge (such as the Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver)... nope, it makes me want to curl up in a little ball and cry.
For some reason, I think my fear is strictly associated with things where If I fuck up, I might die. Although that doesn't explain the CN Tower thing. Hmm... -
A very irrational fear of heights...

Quite. If there isn't an extreme physical attraction, a relationship is bound to eventually fail...

Leave half through your song, never to return...

It depends on how I discover them.
If it's by hearing their music first, then it's the passionate honesty of the song, then the performance, then the quality of production.
But if I discover an artist via the web somehow, then I'll Google them first to see what I discover... before I listen to them. So their web presence and execution then becomes #1 before I'll ever hear them.
