That's a tough question because that really depends on ability, experience, and skill, but I would guess the average shoot & burn would be around $2,500. For us to shoot & burn it would be $6,000 - but we rarely do that since it's so important to us for our couples to have an album.

We don't run any actions on our image, but we do use some Lightroom presets. We've thought about making a majority of them available for free, but it's a bit of a back-burner project. Stay tuned to the Blog for announcements about that; likely this summer.

We actually have our own sharpening action which does a similar thing to KK Magic Sharp, but aside from that we shoot all prime lenses which make our images sharper, and then we really focus (ha) on making sure we focus images properly when shooting them. We manually select our focus point to ensure the best focus possible.

No, we have our own blog-making actions. It'll take you 5 minutes to make your own :) There's a post on our blog on how to do it!

Boats are tough to shoot on - no way around that. The good news is that it's a smaller space so when you're using your flash you don't have to be cranking the power to get results. The best advice I could give you would be to be sure to scope out the location beforehand so you're adequately prepared. There's no one-size-fits-all setting for your flash - preparation will be your best tool.

We use the built-in Facebook plugin that comes with ProPhoto3, and then for the "Love" button under each image it's a plugin that we got from Brian at Flauntbooks : http://www.flauntbooks.com/wordpress-plugins/image-voting-plugin.html

Laura - that was the one thing we actually needed to modify the theme files to do; it took a bit of custom HTML (not complicated). You could do the same thing in Appearance > Customize > Settings > Advances > Post Signature. That field allows for HTML but you'll have to monkey with it to get the links to display in the place you want them to (below or above the comments, for example)

I'm assuming you're talking about the actual ceremony where you don't have control over the direction people are facing. If so, then there's really not much we do to fill in shadows during the ceremony. You could use fill flash, but generally it looks pretty unnatural, which is counter to the look we're going for. My best advice would be to expose for great skin tones - you're clients will be happiest when they look the best, and this is a big contributing factor.

We use a flash when we need to, and we're definitely not afraid to use it. When indoors we tend to bounce our flash off an adjacent wall, building, ceiling, or large guest who happens to be wearing a white shirt. When we can't bounce, we'll use off camera flashes triggered with PocketWizards, but this is a rare occasion.

I think the best advice we've ever received was that we should strive to be ourselves - authentically and uniquely. It's really easy in this industry to simply copy someone else, but that's the easy thing. Do the hard thing, and be yourself and figure out what it is that you uniquely bring to the table.

We use Marsh Affinity, through PPA. The policy is underwritten by The Hartford and we carry both domestic and international insurance polices. If you're a PPA member, Marsh gives you a break on the premiums.

Tough question! Erin and I both have a lot of blogs we follow, but if we each had to choose one....
Jeff: Seth Godin's Blog - great riffs on marketing, thinking differently, and pushing forward: http://sethgodin.typepad.com/
Erin: Copyblogger - great tips and thoughts on writing with a purpose. http://www.copyblogger.com/ -
The DUO! For sure! What an incredible, incredible album. We're huge fans of the Buckram covers and simple cream paper inside. Amazing.
