Hi Priscilla! I tend to be conscious when buying books (i.e. checking reviews before buying) and it frustrates me since I want to get into more genres. Maybe it's because I'm a student and money is tight, but do you have any advice? :-)
That's awesome! :) When looking for books in different genres, I try to eliminate any per-conceived assumptions I have of the genre, and consider if the synopsis/story of the book really interests me. It's great to check out reviews, but also don't doubt your intuition of what you like/dislike.
And if you're really unsure, there's always borrowing the book from the library. :)
