The first thing that comes to mind is applying to college. The process has taken several months (and will take a few more, due to financial aid!) but at the beginning I admit to being anxious. You see, I want it so badly - to get away from home, to learn about things I'm passionate about, to meet intellectually stimulating people, etc. I didn't know if I would be able to convey just how much I want it in a 500-word essay or through a list of my extracurricular activities. Not to mention that all of the schools I'm applying to are prestigious and almost all of them are extremely selective.
However, once I organized everything I had to do - essays, sending test scores, teacher recommendations, etc. - I was able to take it one step at a time and really savor it. This was my chance to show how far I've come and how much I've learned, and I didn't want to waste it. In fact, it was even enjoyable; writing essays responding to unique prompts was so much fun and I loved learning about all the schools I applied to.
I'm planning on writing a more in-depth about my college application journey after I get accepted somewhere (fingers crossed!) Anyway, thank you for the questions. The last one I may take an entire blog post to respond to, we'll see. :) -
That's a tough question... I would want to change it to something similar to blue so that people wouldn't freak out - I would also like to change it something that scientists could provide a logical explanation for, so that no one would assume the world was coming to an end. I would love white as it's one of my favorite colors, but I suppose green would fit too, or any color that fits the description above.

Ugh, so many things. I will elaborate more in a blog post, but I do wish that the educational system in general would stop emphasizing grades and supposedly objective achievements so much. They should focus more on learning for learning's sake and on cultivating passion and knowledge. This is definitely not the only thing I would like to change though!

Okay, so I actually had an ulterior motive in creating a Formspring: my plan was that people would ask me thought-provoking questions, and I would use them to inspire me to write new blog posts based off of them! This is one of those questions. I could dedicate an entire post to this - which, I am definitely considering now - but I don't want to cheat you out of an answer, so.... here we go.
Progress. Oh, boy. So much progress. You know, a lot of people think that high school just sucks in general and once you get to college, then you can discover yourself and open up and escape. I've actually done a lot of opening up and growing into myself in high school. Just look at my posts from when I started my blog to now. Though I still have my problems and my slight insecurities, I've overcome a lot of my doubts and my fears, and I've become much more secure in who I am and in what I stand for. That's just the brief answer...
Regrets... hm. There's nothing significant I regret off of the top of my head. Academically, I should've tried harder in the classes I got A-'s in. Personally... I don't know. I feel like there are a lot of things I could have done differently, but then that would've changed how things are now. For example, I somewhat regret not entering more writing competitions, but I took that time to work on my blog, which is my pride and joy. I'll get back to you on that one.
Lost friends - I did have a kerfuffle with a peer, which I alluded to in my post "Life Isn't Fair... but You Can Be", which was my only true conflict. There are definitely friends that I've floated away from a little bit because of not having classes together and being so busy with academics/sports/life, but I don't think I've completely lost them. Drifted away a bit, I suppose, but not lost.
Thank you for your questions! -
This is such a difficult question! To err on the side of caution I would choose John Steinbeck because I already know that his books are high quality. If I wanted to be a daredevil (a... book, daredevil, I guess) I would choose one of my favorite YA authors, like Suzanne Collins or Maggie Stiefvater or Cassandra Clare. Or Scott Westerfeld. They've produced books that I've loved, and who knows what works they'll write in the future.
I guess I didn't really answer this question properly, but... if I had to choose only one, I'd go with Steinbeck. -
