I love my parents, but by the time I was born they were just typical suburban squares. I've heard stories that my mom was a total free-spirit rebel when she was a teenager. And I've heard that my dad actually listened to Black Sabbath at one point in his life. However, I never knew these sides of my parents. While they were overprotective in a lot of ways, they did support me when I wanted to play drums, and even paid for lessons, which I am really grateful for. They always let my various bands play in our garage, and they were always nice to all my weirdo friends.
