teleeroticist

So, who am I?

  • Teleeroticist

Hi everyone, my name is Christi Olson, but most of you know me as Teleeroticist.

Well, this is awkward, but I might as well get everything out there before someone else does.

While my profile says I live in Los Angeles, I actually moved back to Vancouver, British Columbia a few months ago because of some immigration issues. I left my location as LA to keep my sister from finding this account, but I guess that ship has sailed... Everything aside from my location has been real.

I grew up in a city called Regina (yes, it rhymes with vagina. Such a funny joke), Saskatchewan (province over North Dakota). I went to a french immersion Catholic school, then moved to Vancouver for film school. I actually almost deleted this account when a writer for a little local paper in Regina started following me on twitter (shout out to @sjbrot). I also lived in Scotland for a while and did some various writing related things in New York and San Francisco.

So why am I outing myself? A particularly douchey fellow in New York, who had tried to do something similar to what I've done with this twitter (only his was made up), was angry that his didn't work out. I had a few people talk to me about doing something with this (nothing serious and nothing concrete, don't get excited), he lost it, said the only reason anyone cared about what I had to say was because I was a woman talking about sex. Then he outed me for the first time. After some pretty severe threats, he took it down.

I'm not very smart, and like to see the best in people, so about a week ago I started talking to him again. Today he took it a step further.

Really, the worst thing I could do is tell you who he is, because he would be getting exactly what he wanted: people reading his twitter. That's pretty much an unparalleled level of sad, but it's true.

Anyway, my sister took it pretty well. Her original response was "Eww" but by the end of the phone call she was more worried that people would find her twitter and think less of her for only tweeting about the band Something Corporate (I think that's a pretty valid fear). My parents don't understand the internet, so it's unlikely they'll find out unless someone tells them. So...uh... if you know them, please don't.

I'm going to go throw up now.
