Judging from last year's turnout, we are anticipating around 700 attendees. Regarding dinner, we'll definitely have vegetarian options!
-
Yes--just like last year, seats in the main room where the conference will be physically taking place are reserved for students under 18, since we are a youth conference and we want to make sure that as many students as possible get the chance to sit in the main room. All other adults will be directed to simulcast rooms where the conference is broadcast live in crystal-clear quality on the large screens.
-
The event is scheduled to begin officially at 1:00, but in order to get the best seats, we highly recommend that you arrive around 12:15 PM.
-
The event is scheduled to run from 1:00 to approximately 7:45 (at which point, dinner will take place), but we have performances, TED talks and breaks all scheduled in so that it's not just talk after talk :)
-
Although jeans with holes isn't exactly what we're aiming for, normal everyday attire is fine for attendees.
-
The TEDxRedmond committee is still developing the event agenda, but prepare to have most of your day set aside for the event. At the moment, tentatively 12:15 - 12:30 or so.
-
Thanks for asking this question! We are still developing our streaming and will give you the URL once it is available. Please contact us at info@tedxredmond.com with approximately how many people will be watching the stream and we will get in touch a little closer to the event date with all the details.

We actually recently got that confirmed: the Microsoft Conference Center in Redmond, WA!
-
There are 16 people on the planning committee. For more information, check out http://tedxredmond.com/our-team/
-
Go to http://tedxredmond.com/register/ and you will find all the details there. Because there is limited attendance (due to space) at the conference this year, you'll have to apply in order to attend.
-
Typically during breaks or after the conference and speeches are over, the speakers have a chance to mingle and chat with the attendees. Although we can't guarantee that you'll have to chance to meet with them (some speakers have busy schedules, flights to catch, etc.), we encourage you to talk with those who are available afterwards.

Check this out for some pretty awesome reasons: http://tedxredmond.com/2011/06/02/why-do-you-want-to-attend-tedxredmond/

September 10th, 2011 (Saturday). Plan to set the whole day aside as we haven't decided exactly when it will begin, but it will likely be sometime in the late morning (11 AM or after).
-
Redmond, Washington State. We have not finalized our conference venue, but it will most likely be the Redmond High School Performing Arts Center.
-
This is our second year running the event; both years Adora Svitak has acted as curator of the event (having started it in 2010). The organizing committee is comprised of middle and high school students from around the Puget Sound area. Go to www.tedxredmond.com/our-team/ for more info about our amazing planning committee.
-
We haven't gotten all of our speakers lined up yet (still contacting them), but a few of our initial confirmed speakers include Kara Aber Chambers, Tyler Menezes, Birke Baehr, Roberto Granados, and many more...wait for announcements on tedxredmond.com, twitter.com/tedxredmond, and the TEDxRedmond FB page.
