I think it depends on the situation, because not everything is just black and white. There are the shades in between to consider, too.

Not so much as having no connection, though, especially not to my close friends. Usually, when I decide that sometimes it's better off to keep stuff to myself or to be alone, then maybe we aren't really "connected" if it could be said that way.
