Getting that gig with Gravan was a pretty big boost.

Being the permanent location photographer for all future projects and hopefully branching out into other lines of architectural photography is a chance I thought I would never get. Its opened my eyes and given me a good kick up the arse which is what I've really needed after doing next to no practical photography during this course.

Don't get me wrong, I've learned a lot and can't wait to go back for the second year. But the lack of actual hands-on photography started to weigh me down towards the end of the year.

After a 10 hour location shoot from Tenby to Cardiff it took 2 days to edit the necessary shots for the brochure they are to be featured in.

Putting a big fat job like this on my CV is hopefully going to be a big help in the future and £500 for my efforts won't go far wrong either!

      Your band sucks

I'm going to go on a big rant and tell you why you, anonymous, are wrong.

      1) For starters, we're constantly playing gigs. If we sucked, then we wouldn't exactly be put on the bills in the first place, so we've got to be doing something right. We have another 8 gigs lined up in the next 4 months.
      2) Mike Chiplin, the ex-drummer of LostProphets who is the person who is both recording and mixing our EP, basically said our songs are of a good standard and if we carried on writing songs the way we do, with "a specific formula which seems to work" then we'll go far.
      3) Padge and Moose from Bullet For My Valentine showed up to one of our shows and turned round to me afterwards and said that "your band is awesome, carry on doing what you're doing".
      4) We have people who turn up to every show from places that are several miles away, whom before playing with the band we had never met, and therefore come because they enjoy our music.
      5) We've never had a negative comment that isn't constructive criticism, which is obviously openly received, and usually by someone that we actually value the opinion of.
      6) Most people who are into the metal/rock music scene in Bridgend have either seen us or heard of us, which suggests good things. I don't even know what music you listen to, if you listen to rap then it's not exactly a good indicator and I would not expect you to enjoy our music in the slightest.
      7) We have never played a gig and not had good feedback afterwards. I've lost count of the amount of people who have said that we are either "awesome!", "insane!", "class!" "amazing!". Or they have said "I really enjoyed your set!", "cannot wait to see you guys again!", "when are you next playing? I'm there!"
      8) If you were to have offered constructive criticism, from a non-anonymous point of view, then perhaps I may have valued your opinion. But as you're too cowardly to say it to my face, (or any of my band members' faces!), you have to go on a social networking site and attempt to put someone down because you have nothing better in life to do, then as far as I'm concerned your opinion is invalid.

And that, anonymous, is why my band doesn't suck, and you need to grow a pair of testicles, and actually attempt to try and do something with your life. Oh and for the record, I actually laughed at your pathetic attempt to put me down. I'm now off to get ready to play a gig tonight, so have a nice day! :)

When is the last time you tried to commit oral to yourself? I do it once a month...Almost there seriously!

I like the use of 'commit' here, because that's serious commitment to a very sad cause. If you want to get frisky so much find a lovely lady or gent. You'll probably strain a lot less muscles. And you sound like you need it.

      You're a pro-wrestler - what's your entrance theme?

Haha the first thing that came in my head was Back in Black. I'd like to strut to that and be like YEEAAAAH BOY.

How do you get over a breakup?

      Me personally? Or in general?
If we're going with me personally I don't recommened going on three day binges or kissing pretty much all of your friends. It's hollow, empty and overall you eventually feel worse.
What I think does work though is distractions. I mean, break ups are awful but I think it's the best time to actually discover who you are as an individual rather than being part of a couple. Throwing yourself into a neglected hobby, or school/college/uni work helps take up brain space. See your friends, go out. Live your life for yourself, essentially.
I think it's important to let yourself grieve over it as well. No ones a solid pillar of strength all the time. If you're upset then let it out, because if you bottle it up it's just going to fester and come out in a worse way.

just do us all a favor and go off yourself, for fucks sake.

what do you most want for your little brother and would you like him to live the life you are living currently ? :)

For my brother I want everything that I didn't have, or will never have. He's going to be great. He's a little genius. He could rule the world if he wants. Infact, that's what I want him to do. I want him to rule the world in whatever medium he chooses to do so (nae drugs or that, I'll teach him better haha) Not going into detail on such a site as formspring but I want every possible opportunity for that boy, and if it means I have to live at home until I'm in my late 20's to see it happen, then so be it. My heart would break if he lived the life I'm living. It isn't the life I've ever wanted for myself and it's a mighty struggle to try and make it into something at least half decent, nevermind great. My brother is the cleverest kid I've ever came across, he deserves so, so much more than what either of us have right now and sincerely believe he'll get it :)
