Wow. There are so many people, honestly. I've "known" @sween for five years or so online, but never met in-person, so he'd be a fun one. I've also known Pat Hughes (aka Bad News Hughes/Domesticated Shithead) for years and never met, so that'd be cool. Other bloggers I haven't met but would like to would be TwoBusy and BreedEmAndWeep... I could come up with tons more, but these spring immediately to mind.

Aww, shucks [blush]. Well, you can see some very smile-y pictures I just put up the other day here: http://www.sweetney.com/photoblog/ I have a lot to smile about these days, though :)

I would do what I love. This is a choice I've already made though -- being a blogger isn't leaving me rolling in the dough, obvs. But I love it, and there's nothing I'd rather be doing, even if I made twice as much money. You have to realize, this is a person who got did her MA and PhD work in *English Literature*. Idealism: I has it. :)

My all-time favorite vice was, of course, smoking. Quit a few years back -- I'd quit before (like most smokers), of course, but this time for good. Still, I think about it, to this day. Most of the time when I smell cigarettes they smell like ass, but sometimes if I'm out having a drink, I long for just one... But I learned a long time ago that one leads to two leads to three... sigh. I envy those who can just smoke one night every few months. Bastards.

Okay. I'd do this online, no kidding. There are two or three online designer sales sites that have RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME clothes for, like, 70% off. I got an Oscar De Laurenta *gown* on one that was $500 for less than $100. Crappin' you negative. I KNOW!
In case you don't know about em' I gots an invite fer ya. Go yonder and sign up - just don't blame me for the hurtin' they'll put on your pocketbook.

Hmmm. That I miss Dave Chappelle. That Campari with soda is my go-to drink. That I sleep with my iPhone on the pillow next to me, because I'm still a little freaked out about sleeping in this house alone (well, M's here, but *as the only adult*). That 95% of the time I never wear make-up except lipstick (some might say this is distinctly NOT a good thing). That it's been almost a year since I've read a whole book, and that makes me sad. That I have an Amazon.com Prime addiction (BEWARE! ABANDON ALL HOPE, YE WHO ENTER INTO THAT PROGRAM!). That I love the people who write for MamaPop like family. That I'm lucky. That I'm imperfect and sometimes crabby, that I can overthink things and be neurotic and a perfectionist but still make mistakes all the time... but that I always mean well, and try very hard to be a good human being and live a life I can be proud of.

Not so much, until recently. This past year my life got a whole lot more complicated/messy/tender, and I'm very much aware that I need to tread lightly in ways I perhaps didn't before. Over the course of the past year I've tried to focus primarily on my feelings/thoughts rather than on actual events or things other people say/do. In that way I'm really only providing insight into what's going on *internally* with me, and leaving other people's emotions and perceptions out of it. I own my feelings, and at times being able to write about them is the only way for me to work through things for myself, but I do try to respect others' and not speak for them, present their side of things, or tread on their privacy as much as possible.

I've heard good things about that snarky design firm :)
Honestly, I've always been of the mind to let the people I'm paying to be creative be creative -- let em' brainstorm and come up with ideas and do what they'd do if they were doing it for themselves, you know? If you hate what they come up with in the end, you can always ask for a revision or shoot em' down.
This is, incidentally, the tack I took with the Sparklecorn cake at BlogHer. "Make me the coolest unicorn cake you can - the cake YOU would want to have if it were your party." And I think we all know how that turned out :)
Oh, and I believe that there Sweetney bird is a sparrow. That was something my buddy Bill (a designer) came up with back in 2004 for me. -

Aww, that's sweet. I am equal parts baffled and humbled by such things - that's the god's honest truth. As far as I'm concerned, it's an honor that people actually want to read anything I have to say, let alone get so excited as to *SQUEE* about it. I mean, I'm just this internet dork, you know?
