I'd have to say God! ;) I didn't spend hours or even days thinking of the concept. What happened was I was in my basement one day and the name "Sukey Rose" literally just popped in my head and I knew immediately that it was the concept of my next album. I knew that I was going to write songs about this character and that her experiences would stem from mine but go beyond to the extremes. I did do a web search to make sure it wasn't a person or name I had heard in passing, and it didn't seem to have any origin so the idea stuck!

Heavy Metal hurts my ears. It scares me. And I always feel like hiding b/c I think someone's mad and is about to murder someone.

abstract, haphazard, messy, mixed media art all mashed together onto a canvas. (paint, paper, objects, collage, etc.)

I can't get over the name. It just makes me think of female sanitary products.

If "Love Story" was on the playground, my song "War" would beat it up just for having the word "Love" in the title. Unfortunately, Taylor's songs are too sweet to joust with Sukey Songs. I'd feel so sorry for her songs actually, cause Sukey songs don't mean to be mean. They've just got issues, you know?

Not as a songwriter, but as a musician I often enjoy sampling some old school R&B and rap to be inspired by the creative use of sound/music/samples/notes/word.

sorry Cali, but Philly Cheese-steaks all the way!

I wrote my first instrumental song on the piano when I was about 7. I wrote my first full song with melody and lyrics when I was in High School. The inspiration was a made up story in my mind, which is my usual inspiration when writing songs. ;)

Melodically- "Martha, My Dear" by the Beatles. Lyrically- "Help I'm Alive" by Metric. Overall, "Pitter-Pat" by Erin McCarley is a song I wish I could have written.

The most memorable was when I played to an empty room. Definitely memorable and I won't ever forget it. My favorite performance so far was my last show at Genghis Cohen in Feb. I was just very relaxed and truly enjoyed myself.
