I wish I could say it was some deep meaning about how I burn with a deep scarlet fire of passion or something, but I can't. It's a Deadhead thing.
Years ago, I used to use biodtl as my username for everything (an acronym for a Dead song, beat it on down the line), but after I became active on a big forum and started meeting people, I realized that biodtl was unpronounceable. So I switched to sugarmag for email, blog, plurk, etc. (after the Dead song, Sugar Magnolia)
Then when I joined twitter, sugarmag wasn't available and like a dumbass, instead if just incorporating sugarmag into the name, I went with scarletfire (after 2 Dead songs that are mainly played together Scarlet Begonias and Fire on the Mountain), thereby making sure that people who knew me from one place didn't recognizing me at another. So stupid.
This was totally the most boring answer ever. but thanks for asking a question anyway!
