no filters. in fact, becka usually loses her lens caps. it's risky, but we've had filters noticably reduce the quality of our images before. If you're going to use them, make sure they are HIGH HIGH HIGH quality ones.
I do like using an ND or polarizing filter once in a while. -
it sure does help the days run smoother

Well, there is no affordable film. Polo and MF are outrageous, and 35mm is on the rise but still the cheapest per frame. Get a canoscan 9000f for $200 and scan it yourself, then it's only about $3-$4 per roll to get processed. My first film camera was yashica twin lens, awesome and affordable. But if you are serious about learning film and not about old cameras, get a modern AF 35mm on whatever system you're currently on. Lenses are interchangeable and controls are also identical. For canon, look at an eos 3

Depends on what you want to do. Are you looking to get into medium format? Do you want something instant like an old polaroid? Do you want something small and simple that you can throw in a bag like a 35mm?

No. But we've also loved everything that has been designed for us in the past. I think if we didn't like it, we might feel bad or awkward.

Put out consistently good work and submit it. We submit almost everything we shoot to at least 1 publication that we think it is a good fit for. It's a numbers game, the more you submit the more you'll be published.

Yes. We are only taking 1 wedding per weekend now. (Except for a few rare special instances). Right now we only have 1 holiday wedding booked and the couple paid an additional fee to have us away from our family during that time.

Thank you very much. I think we're growing up as photographers and our style is growing with us. We're getting much more into storytelling with our work, and creating work that communicates a feeling rather than a picture that is just pretty to look at.

Same as always... 80/20 Lightroom and Photoshop.

Currently I'm getting a ton of inspiration from fashion advertisements and editorial campaigns for the most random of businesses. Also, from really strange and experimental photographers who shoot for the pure art of it. There's people making really amazing art out there, I hope to one day be one of them.

Hm... I think this just comes with practice. Florida's sun can be really harsh. Sometimes I (Becka) like to blow out the highlights on purpose... it just depends on the mood I'm trying to create and the story I'm trying to tell. I generally expose for skin tones, if that helps at all.

We meet with most our couples although now-a-days we do more consultations over Skype than in person. And when we do meet in person we take our son along some of the time. He's a pretty chill baby.

Just be yourself, then you aren't really having to sales pitch anything, you're just getting to know people. :)

We shoot between 20-30 weddings a year.
