Though I haven't officially decided yet, it's probably going to be 5 dollars. :) (sorry for the delay in answering your question. Formspring issues)

Well, if my commissions rules on my web page say anything, I feel just fine about it. http://spookychan.com/commissionrules/ -Despite my own ups and downs with always wanting to be better, I do know I have a talent that people enjoy and respect. I'm a professional in this field and I should be compensated for my time away from other projects.

Now you need to figure out what your time is worth. You need to treat this as a job. Time is money. Yeah, it's great do do images for friends, but for strangers who you devote your effort to need to make it worth your while. Kindness does not pay the bills, and you need to respect yourself. If you don't identify with this as being a job, then it's your hobby and should consider why you're drawing.

Thank you! -Well, hopefully the God Machine will come out either next year or 2014. We're still negotiating and obviously, I'm still working on it.
However! Everybody will be able to get their fix soon! In July I should be releasing my Raw preview pages online- once per week. Think of it like a web comic, but with rough pencils and mistakes. I also do commentary with the pages so it also acts as a "behind the scenes" series. More on that later!
      Again thank you! <3

I'm currently coloring a few pages for a collection (to be announced later), talks of illustrating a short story to an anthology, moving, and a few things are in the works-- really right now I'm straighting my life out and focusing on The God Machine mostly. I've had a lot of emotional set backs last year that put me at a semi-stand still, but after this move to a new area I'm ready to conquer everything again! (also- I hope to get my mock children's book off the ground sometime soon!)

Hi Kat! Well- things are moving slower than expected. We're negotiating currently when the book will be out to suit both my schedule and Archaia's. However, the Rough Cut preview pages should be up sometime in July (granted things go according to plan). We're looking at 2013-2014 release. More on this soon!

Ready? I went to UCF (University of Central Florida) ---I dropped out. I was 6 courses away from graduating with a BA in Fine Art. MY STORY -I had 2 art history professors that were actively trying to fail the class. I tried the my hardest in both- I got a C in each. I needed a C+ in order for it to count towards my degree. I was frustrated with my situation. (especially since one class was hard to get into, and the other would just have the same bitch actively trying to fail us due to "accountants" and "sports majors" were in her class of 450... oy, i heard her say this too.) SO! I decided to take a break- because what was 6 classes before turned into 8 if i had to retake those classes. Let alone the art department was not properly funded due to the fact that they poured money into a new stadium--- there was only one Drawing professor i could take for advance drawing- and i really wanted to study under other artists for a full range of artistic views.

I had so many lows in college- but from the few good professors i had, it was worth it. There's a few classes in college that will give you something high school can never give you, (especially studio time with live models and an art teacher breathing down your neck is so valuable to everything you're going to do- plus if you go to a regular public university (like i did) you have the chance to study subjects like psychology, the humanities, and such.. really great stuff.

It has it's ups and downs, but i say go and take it as far as it will allow you to. Also, study another trade that will help your art career as well. I can't stress this enough.

Knowledge is power, and so is all the work you're going to have to do in college- ALL WORTH IT.

p.s. i would have graduated if i hadn't had those obstacles.

      Friendship.

But seriously- for me, personally, it's more like when everything comes together just right and a feeling of joy comes over you. That is magic... and the ponies do have it right- friendship is magic, because it feels "right." To feel connected with other human beings... (though, that never is a perfect process)

Animation- multiple season television series, adult content. Animation similar to Samurai Champloo (tall characters, nice effects for monsters, good palette but darker.) Have Maynard (TOOL, APC, Puscifer) do the voice of Guy.. and i'd be happy.

Right now The God Machine is only formally in the USA to my knowledge. I've heard of people around the world getting their shops to import it for them, though.

This is out of my hands. Though my publisher, as far as I know, is looking into getting their books in other countries and possible translations! But this is still up in the air.

My suggestion to you and others like you is see if your local retailer can get it in for you, or check your region's Amazon or other online outlets for ordering.

      Good luck!
      Sorry for the inconvenience.

Officially- (as with fitting in my schedule and Archaia's release schedule)... it should be fall 2013. Assuming nothing bad happens, or schedule conflict issues. I know it's some time- but good news is that i will be posting preview pages VERY soon within a month or so from now.
      Stay tuned!

I cannot say. --though, I do dislike her to a certain extent, I also appreciate her and what she means to Guy. It's hard to get into things without giving away the farm, but Sith represents many things to Guy as he grows from the tragedy and what their relationship was/is.
More clues to their relationship will be revealed in time...

Conquest of a boy she has yet to have a notch for on her bed post. (and something more psychological and territorial...)

I find that I have always enjoyed characters/cartoons where the costumes/outfits change to reflect time and a sort of normalcy in the world that's being shown to us. Everybody in The God Machine gets new clothing through the days, or in the case of Guy staying over at Andrew's he's kept the same clothes from that night.

As much as I want to say that GG's clothing was representative of a mood/symbolic change --it's not the primary intent. We'll probably see her in more flowing gowns that are not so dark in colors through the corse of the story. (Though, there will be other factors that show a change in her... so watch out for those hints!)

I don't really have a favorite brand--- however, i use mechanical pencils- usually .5 and .9. I need to be less lazy about my pencils, but I hate getting out of the zone to sharpen anything. Fill and go!

The first volume took roughly from a year and a half to 2 years. The reason I don't really know is because it had many starts and stops along the way. I did chapter 2 in college, I wrote chapters 1-3 and parts of 4-5) from 2001 to 2005-ish. Chapter 4 was actually 4 & 5 re-imagined for clarity to be broken down to just chapter 4. (The material I cut out of 5 is for the best, soooo boring.)

College got in the way, and then I also worked on pitch artwork for Serena Valentino, then colored 2 issues of Sullengrey. So my focus in mid-2005 (just out of college) to 2007 was all over the place. Started to work on issue 1 in 2007- started coloring issue 1 in 2008, then got a contract re-negotiated as my hands started to fail me for months and months of excruciating pain. It was a good thing the re-negotiations took place, otherwise i wasn't going to be able to deliver my work. I believe either late 2008 or early 2009 things were manageable and I had a new contract with Archaia. I turned in the book in June/July 2010- and it was printed in store in Nov. 2010. Somewhere in there- 2009, the Preview issue came out..

      Yeah, time is jumbled, so it's hard to really say how long it took- but now you have an idea of what a mess it was! ^^;;;

Well since everything has influenced me at one point or another (mostly cartoons really), let's do embarrassing childhood to the year 2000 (these are the comics that let me know what comics were:

Garfield, Disney Adventures Magazine, Sonic (Archie mid 90's time period), Gargoyles (the Marvel 90's run), X-Men mid 90's, CLAMP works- [Magic Knight Rayearth, X, Clover], I Feel Sick; a story about a girl, JTHM/Squee!, probably other manga, and other stuff? I dunno... cartoons were where it was with me mostly. I know, lame, right?
