H&M , John Lewis and the others are just old shirts turned into handmade cloth napkins.

Yes if you go to the shop at http://www.slightlyeverything.com . I really must post more samples of my work. I have had an odd year and a lot going on in my family but hope to be on top of everytihng again soon including updating Slightly Everything.

i don't tend to plan a post it more just happens. If I see something in our day that i want to capture i take a photo of it. Then once i pick my three photographs for that day's post I pick the title. This mostly comes from my thought and feelings when i took the photographs or that day.

Such a lovely thing to say! Thank you. Burton and Swinburne in the Strange Affair of Spring Heeled Jack was a fun project. I really enjoyed it and really hope to do more illustrating work in the future. As for when I really can't tell you this yet. But look out for any updates on Twitter.

oh my, the wish list is long but sadly the basket is very empty! Maybe ask again in a few months.

We were very luck because we moved to closer to family. This was a big plus and an amazing help.
Starting school is never easy and moving to a new school and saying good bye to your old friends can be hard.
Say good bye too old school friends properly and make sure you have swapped addresses.Ask if friends could send your child a letter or post card to your new address so it is there when you arrive at your new home. For my son I found that his biggest fear was the loss of his old school friends. It's such a joy to see how much he and his friends seem to gain from becoming pen friends.
Visiting the new school is an obvious one. Take this opportunity to gain a full list of all equipment and uniform you may need. Nothing worse than being the only child who doesn't have something. Also asking about popular after school clubs, play centres and play grounds.
The thing to remember is that children tend to adapt to new things very quickly. As long as you are honest and they always, when ever possible know what is going to happen next.
Good luck and the very best wishes for a smooth move x -
oh my I haven't done professional face painting for a very long time. My son has never been very keen on having his face painted.
How on earth do you know i use to do face painting and how did you find me?
Any how to answer your question maybe. Feel free to contact me and see what we could arrange. -
First of all I don't consider myself to be a Waldorf/Steiner mum in the slightest. My qualifications are in child care and education. I came by Steiner about the same time as Montessori. Montessori is a very effective way of training/educating in a very focused way. I feel Montessori is just a little to detached for me as parent. With Waldorf/Steiner I love a lot of the theories and concepts. But my son doesn't go to Steiner school. The first reason for this was that at the time He was school age I couldn't afford the school fees. The second reason for this is because I know how difficult it can be for primary taught Steiner children to adapt in mainstream secondary school education.Unfortunately we live in a society in which we all ave to conform to certain social norms in order to progress in life. That said Steiner is very much about promoting a simple, natural, happy traditional home like education and that is something I think is utterly wonderful.
I most definitely do not consider myself to be a Anthroposophist!Yes the idea of conscientiously cultivating a sense-free thinking is a beautiful one and one like a lot. But I also see it slightly as a religion. I think there is a lot of good to be found in all religions and Jacob is aware of a lot of this. But I'm really not a religious person at all. -
Although it may not seem it I really don't share a lot of extremely private information at Slightly Me. Yes the photography is very personal but it truly is just a small peek into our life. Blogging doesn't make me feel unsafe. A lot of things in this world are unsafe. I think sites like Facebook are far more unsafe than Wordpress. It all comes down to being careful about what you put out there.

The short answer to this is yes I do.
Vaccination was for me something that I put a lot of thought into(as I'm sure all mothers do). I really wanted to trust in my child's own natural ability to fight off infections and diseases. Not mention Jacob was born around the time that there was a lot of controversy about the MMR vaccination. After a lot of research it came down to this. A lot of parents say, why should I vaccinate my child when such a small amount of children become seriously ill or die from these diseases nowadays? One of the proven answers to this is because we have been vaccinating against these diseases for years. With each vaccination I weighed up the pros and cons. I don't judge any one who doesn't vaccinate. I feel each child and family is different and if you know all the facts then you can make the right choice for you. -
The short answer to this is very badly. Last year I lost almost all of the first year's worth of Slightly Me photos because they were all on a my PC that then died! I'm now backing up to a USB stick and organising them by date.

Thank you, how kind! Although you can visit Slightly Me via Slightlyeverything.com I blog with Wordpress. A lot of 'new' people find/found me via tag surfing on the site. I have also found Twitter to be a very useful resource.

Is slightly Me a lifestyle blog? I don't think it is...is it? I'm not a very competitive person so don't see that being a side of my personality that I need to keep on top of.

I tend to never use the flash at all. I'm not a professional photograph. I very much enjoy photographing the world around me but I still have a lot of technical know how to learn. Question for you, should I be?

Little Women is very much a comfort read for me. I re-read this twice a year or so, when I'm feeling ill etc.. Children's books are a different story (although it could be said that Little Women is a children's book) I always find we go back to the classics. All books by Eric Carl and Maurice Sendak and for older children Roald Dahl's books are favorites.

Yes I believe that was me. So happy that you think they were beautiful xx
