I'm sure I've had some scares and some real heart racing moments in the theater, but none come to mind. All the scares that I remember or stuck with me happened after watching the movie. After watching the first "Evil Dead" film, I was really nervous about walking down a long, dark hallway because I thought somebody was going to shove a pencil into my foot.

It's not really scary per se, but I can't watch the dog transformation scene in John Carpenter's "The Thing." That freaks me out too much.

Personally, I'm indifferent to Colin Farrell. When he's good, he's really good and when he's bad, it's like watching "Daredevil" all over again. The problem that some people may have with Farrell could come from that fact that he was thrust upon as a movie star. We were told that he was supposed to be the next big thing and the public does not necessarily enjoy being told who will and who won't be their movie stars. They enjoy picking them.

The font just reminded me of the first time I used Final Cut Pro and that looked like the coolest font. I think Cameron just went with what was cool.

However, the papyrus font will not survive in the after market. The home video transfer will most likely feature the standard sub titles font.

The problem with Snyder's "Watchmen" was that he was so loyal and stuck to the source material so well that when he stepped away from graphic novel and changed things, it was for the worst. Snyder should have either gone all the way with it or if he wanted to make changes, he should've started from jump street.

The casting was hit and miss, too. Jackie Earle Haley = great, but Malin Ackerman as Silk Spectre 2 = not great

I don't think The Dark Knight is overrated, but nor do I find it Oscar worthy. I think Heath Ledger deserved the recognition for his performance because that's what the film sing and work as well as it did. The Dark Knight is a great film, but I don't believe they should restructure the Academy Awards and the Best Picture award because it wasn't nominated. Blame the Academy voters for having their head up their ass and nominating Ben Button instead of The Dark Knight. There's no need to add five more nominees. It's confusing and unnecessary.

I remain firmly in the camp that Spider Man 2 is and was the best super hero movie thus far.

I want to say that Argento either lost it during the production of "Opera" or the moment that he heard Piper Laurie & Frederic Forrest make fun of "Trauma" on set. "Trauma" according to the things, I've heard about it was supposed to be the big comeback film. It was supposed to be a "Deeper Red" and it was just weird. A horror film with a sub plot about anorexia?

I saw "Mother of Tears" and it felt half assed. There was CGI blood and Asia Argento's character is the daughter of Daria Nicolodi's character from "Suspiria". It was too American in its execution and not bat shit crazy.

I'm not a fan of "Gangs Of New York." Daniel Day Lewis is good, but the rest of it is a nightmare.

With "Aviator" & "The Departed," the sums are greater than their wholes. There are great moments in those films, but overall, they're just well made films. I love the way that "Aviator" looks, but its too long.

I think Scorsese is due for an oddball picture like a "Bringing Out The Dead" to get his creative juices flowing again. Maybe he needs to work with Nicolas Cage.

I'm interested to see Scorsese's work on "Boardwalk Empire," the HBO series. Maybe it'll be a return to form. Michael Shannon is in the pilot!

My significant other has been talking about Brooklyn a lot lately. So maybe visit there or a trip to the Pacific Northwest or a trip to Donut Man in Glendora or maybe even a meal at Animal on Fairfax.

I got the idea to explore veggie burgers and red meat substitutes from Adam Richman, the host of "Man V. Food" of all things. In an interview, he said that he often goes vegetarian when not filming in order to let the red meat cycle out of his system. At the time, I was consuming a lot of red meat and pork, I thought I should take a break because I was starting to feel sluggish and get more chubby than usual. During those two months when I went red meat less, I felt healthier, but I wasn't working out as often as I would like to. So, hopefully, in the new year, as I begin to explore more vegetarian options and work out, I'll lose more weight.

Another factor for going red meatless is that cancer runs in my family in addition to high cholesterol/blood pressure/diabetes. If giving up a fatburger means I get to live a little longer, then it's a win-win situation.

As for Veggie burgers, I believe that the Veggie Grill, a small Southern California chain (two restaurants in Orange County and two in Los Angeles county) have the best veggie burgers as well as meat substitutes. The Counter has an okay veggie burger. In terms of a frozen veggie burger, I would go with Garden Burger brand because they don't taste like cardboard. I would pass on all forms of fake hot dogs and bacon though. You can't fake those tastes with eggplant or tofu. Eggplant based veggie burgers are pretty bad.

Starting on January 1st, no more red meat for at least six months except for my birthday dinner which would be at Animal, of all places.

I was beyond disappointed by the break up. Yet at the same time, it made sense in the grand punk rock scheme of things. They made two great albums, toured the world and became enough of a legend within the scene that the next wave of crusty punks will hopefully wear their patches on their jacket.

Also, I heard that Jenna and Seth joined the Strange Boys and that should be very, very, very interesting. So, the bands coming out of the break up could be great, too.
