It depends? Sometimes the information comes from them as well. Like they mention it during shows and such. Sasaeng fans follow them around all day but I'm not sure if they get the personal information.

Album sales are taken into consideration for awards. Like those that they give out at the end of the year. So it would be better to buy more albums instead of downloading the songs illegally.
