Formspring question of the day
asked by FormspringAt the end of the day its what you know .. at the end of it all its who you know

yes i am open to shooting even new, aspiring models with little or no experience granted they are of course capable of working and learning and not just standing there looking pretty. Hard to tell sometimes but I give anyone the benefit of the doubt ... Lets just say I do my HW before I go ahead and schedule the shoot to avoid wasting time ...

Its definetely practice and experience. In time you will learn how to be patient with noobs and grow as well. All photographers go through this. Remember the photographer is in CHARGE. The model, assistants, crewmembers listen to YOU. The model also has to pull their own strings to make the shoot work. You will often see this coming when you look at their previous work. I can easily tell if someone has very little experience from their photographs . Both model and photographer - it shows ... in time youll figure it out - dont give up ; keep shooting and have fun !

Yes I am open to TFP/TFCD for some models but only when I find the right look for the shoot - I am also VERY picky on who i do TFP/TFCD with ...

They say that theyre weather resistant ( check your manual ) but i still would be a bit weary on bringing cameras outside in extreme cold temperatures. Plus the CCD could get messed up via condensation when exposing it in extreme cold then going inside your house ( creating waterdroplets inside , etc ) .... i wouldnt do it if i were you

Nikkor 35mm F2D prime lens ... ( Though thats gonna change now that the 35mm 1.4 is out lol )

I am open to TFP yes ... but it all boils down to my availability really.... which is something i find really challenging.

I went to Creative Photography and Advanced Digital Imaging at Humber College back in 1994. Photography has worked well for me and has continued to do so till today. The reality of the business is youre really working 80% of the time doing PR stuff an 20 % is the creative process - you need to be ready to face that reality otherwise you wont last .

Thank you. I dove into this style of shooting mainly because I find glamour/fitness, all the mainstream type of shooting really boring and cliche . Alternative modeling I find more fascinating because there really aint no rules as there would be in high fashion modelling. Sadly tho, the work out there isnt as saturated as you would in the mainstream kind of stuff ( with high fashion ) but hey, im doing this for myself as an artist - i dont really care what other people think of my work ... i do it , because i want to ... and i love what im doing and its done wonders for me on its own !

I took Creative Photography and Advanced Digital Imaging in College . Going to school helped alot - but i strongly advise you ask yourself what you want in the end ; do you want to do this as a career ? or a hobby ?

Absolutely - Im having a hard time finding the time to create it but I most definetely WANT to do as many tutorials and breakdowns of my work. There are alot of behind the scenes goodies in my facebook fanpage which gets first dibs on all the rare candids and outtakes from sets !

I went through a course in Creative Photography & Advanced Digital Imaging when I was in College. Pretty much honed all my skills from there ....
