I'm the worst at music, to be honest! XD I only listen to really odd or specific bands, and then I like listening to random songs that catch my interest.

For Springiette it'd have to be anything extremely sugary and hyper. Caramelldansen? NYAN CAT? Anything by Pinkie Pie? Haha.

Now for Fragile, it would be very varied. Perhaps themed soundtracks for each main char.... Whenever Jess is on, there needs to be some Blues Rock (lots of Queen and Huey Lewis and the News), random cartoon soundtracks, and odd jamming songs that make no sense for her musical tastes (in this aspect she's similar to Marian). Karen would be electronics, house music (Daft Punk would be there for sure). Marian listens to anything that makes her happy, even if it's bad. She's prone to hum that song you've heard e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e, and probably get it for her music player. Steph prefers calm music that doesn't distract her from her work (metal and detailed sewing is not a good combination for her), and Emily loves romantic and slow tracks (no band comes to mind right now. Stuff similar to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5ObwFjSMbg but in English).

I think Magick Chicks would be hilarious paired up with magical girl anime's intro songs :P Eerie Cuties, I'm not too sure!

Taking into account they didn't really have much of a personality back then... (and they starred awful awful comic plots I never showed anyone)... I'd say that those dolls have evolved into actual chars that will (hopefully) grow in the course of the story :3

*mumble* Formspring didn't post my answer...

      My own webcomics:
      Springiette (www.springiette.net)
      Fragile (www.fragilestory.com)

      Webcomics I collab on:
Eerie Cuties (inks & finishes) (www.eeriecuties.com)
Magick Chicks (inks & finishes) (www.magickchicks.com)
I occasionally ink Menage a 3, do the color work for the books and some web design for them and Zoom Comics.

I inked two stories on Archie, crossssing my fingers to do more!

Colored some pages for Womanthology, submitted stuff to some other anthologies...

I really don't feel I'm doing enough XD

What I would love to do, related to art/comics:
      * Get better to draw and writing these other two comics I'm planning.
      * Submit more art to anthologies and exhibitions.
      * Do more work for pro publishers... maybe as colorist? I'm not confident on being penciller just yet. Collabs are also welcome.
      * Find out what the cool peeps in comics do with their art... and imitate it xD
      * Draw more of the Sailor Moon fanfic CAUSE I'M SUCH A FANGIRL.

(At the same time I'm doing illustration and design work, and teaching software.)

*insert embarrassing fan-words stating you inspired me to work on comics, but we won't do that and act totally kewl.*

The way I write my stories... I ruminate them over and over. Besides thinking about the characters and the main plot, I try to write little one-shot ideas (even keywords) so if I ever get stuck, I can bring up any of those and save me.
However that's not always possible! Say I'm in the middle of a plot and I rrrrreally. RRRRRRRREally need to solve it? I talk about it with someone else, be it someone who also writes, or a complete outsider of comics. A back-n-forth brainstorming always helps me put my thoughts into order, and sometimes they spark new ideas that you wouldn't have thought of your own.
I don't really take breaks when something isn't working out (a plot, some art, a design, anything), most of the time I push through. Unless it isn't working out cause I'm sleepy... :P

This question is super difficult for me 'cause I know so little about voice/actor/actresses XD

To me, Springiette could only be animated... live-action would be too, too weird. Most of the chars would have high pitched voices (English speakers all speak higher than how I naturally speak tho, so... it works for me), and Chop needs to have an accent that you can't identify what's her native language. Debris' voice would be a little rough, and Candy Kitty's will melt your eardrums. Pork Chop is mute (but she would still make other sounds), PPAD would need a velvety voice, and Agent Pirate would stumble upon his own words (he's nervous!). Sushi needs a deep, weird voice, and Boo's thoughts would sound like a young boy. (Boo's guest actor voice: Nyan Cat).

I totally see Amanda Seyfried as Mel Hellrune... the rest, not so sure XD

It's VERY common to feel that your art, after inking it, doesn't look as good or as energetic. It used to happen to me very often. There's no reason why tracing instead of inking over the original can ruin it... How tight are your pencils? Very detailed? Or quick sketches that capture the movement? I'd recommend to do several passes of pencils (tracing on top of a lightbox, or as I used to do it, a piece of glass/hard plastic and a lamp on the floor), until you get exactly what you want: to the point your pencils look like as if it was inked already. When I draw traditionally (pencil and paper, no computer), I'd do the roughs/pencil on one paper, then trace it over another page, either with a fine tip pencil, or directly inking (although the hot glass can make the ink dry too quickly). It is very important that your ink lines have a good flow; at first we're a bit scared of ruining the drawing with the ink (I'm guilty!) and the lines become stiff, making the finished piece... not looking as good as you'd expect. If you wanna send me some samples, I can give you some hints! ^^/

That is a pretty difficult question...
First, I have to say, is to have an extraordinary art style. You'll probably see that those that succeed in selling original art usually have something that makes their pieces lovable and stick out of the rest.
Original art will ALWAYS be more difficult than fanart u_u My reasoning is that people would want art of characters they already know and love, so unless your pieces bring in something new (style or content), it will be difficult. But not impossible!
I think the first step is to make yourself known. If you are thinking of selling art to people who already consume art (that is, not to work as an illustrator for a client, or doing commisisons as you mention), you need to make them aware that you exist. Post your art online and dip your toes in the community. I also suggest being nice and polite, but it's an art by itself, heh. If you can't do commissions, then you'll probably have a couple of finished pieces that you sell as merchandise (prints, postcards, etc). There are plenty of sites that will manage that for you (deviantart, cafepress), or you can print it yourself and ship them. But don't expect clients to just fall on your lap, you have to look for them! ;) Make them fall in love with your art!

Thread by thread, stitching it together
Twilight's dress, cutting out a pattern snip by snip
Making sure the fabric folds nicely
It's the perfect color and so hip
Always got to keep in mind my pacing
Making sure the cloth's correctly facing
      I'm stitching Twilight's dress

      It's Applejack's new dress.

      Dress making's easy
      For Pinkie Pie something pink
      Fluttershy something breezy
Blend color and form, do you think it looks cheesy?

      Something brash, perhaps quite fetching
Hook and eye, couldn't you just simply DIE
Making sure it fits forelock and crest
Don't forget the magic in the dress
Even though it rides high on the flank

      I'm stitching Rainbow's dress

Piece by piece, snip by snip
      Croup, dock, haunch, shoulders, hip
Thread by thread, primmed and pressed
      Yard by yard, never stress
And that's the art of the dress

Even if my fabric choice was perfect
Gotta get them all done by tonight
Pinkie Pie, the color is too obtrusive
Wait until you see it in the light
      I'm sewing them together

Don't you think my gown would be more me with some lollipops?
      Well, I think...
      Balloons?
      Well...
      Do it!
Hour by hour, one more change
I'm sewing them together, take great pains

Fluttershy, you're putting me in a bind
Rainbowdash, what is on your mind
Oh my gosh, there's simply not much time
Don't forget, Applejack's duds must shine

      French haute couture, please.
      Eeeh...
      What if it rains? Galoshes!
More balloons! Oh no, that's too many balloons.
      More candy! Oh, less candy.
      Oh wait, I know! Streamers!
      Streamers?
      Whose dress is this?
      Streamers it is.
      What?
Aren't you going to tell me to change something too?
No, I just want my dress to be cool.
Do you not like the color?
The color's fine, just make it look cooler.
Do you not like the shape?
The shape's fine, just make the whole thing, you know, cooler.
It needs to be about 20% cooler.

All we ever want is indecision
All we really like is what we know
      Gotta balance style with adherence

Make sure that it stays within our budget
      Got to overcome intimidation
Remember it's all in the presentation

Piece by piece, snip by snip
      Croup, dock, haunch, shoulders, hip
Bolt by bolt, primmed and pressed
      Yard by yard, always stressed

Best... first and second year were fun, there were a lot of interesting projects to do and I had the chance to use illustrations on my work. There was this book I made for 4th year Editorial class, it was Fashion through the 20th century. I drew all the pinup illustrations for it! Even if I'd change the design if I had to do it now, it was fun to draw. I stayed up all night before the due date drawing and drawing! We don't have campuses here where you live with other students (unless you come from another province, but generally you just rent an apartment then), so I don't have many ~quirky~ anecdotes regarding that. It was all work XD

Worst memory... well, it was personal rather than related to college, but half way through my 3rd year, my dad passed away, then my dog (who was like my baby), and it was very hard to get through. i was crying during every break, and I had people making fun of me by the way I looked. I had a few panic attacks due to it all, but I worked through it, never failed any class and fixed a lot of issues. I also remember some projects I absolutely hated during that year, that I threw away the results because I did such a bad job on them :P

Legit question! When I started, I had a faint idea of what GD was, and then I found out about so many uses to it. The most concise answer is 'graphic solutions for communication'. The problem? People (anyone) wants to communicate something, and you'll have to provide the most fitting solution to it.

Anywhere you look around there's graphic design. A designer (or at least, someone with some ~graphic taste~) has designed the GUI of the software you're using. The logo on your mouse, on your monitor. That can of soda, the packaging of the cookies you're eating, the painting of the truck that delivered the boxes and the logos on them...! Store signage, road signs, airport signs, even what Pantone inks are the right ones for your country's flag! Book diagram, web design (frontend, backend), interactive design, branding, typography, signage, printing systems (one of my favorite classes right there), software, marketing... (Some explanation here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphic_design_occupations) When I started my first year, I thought graphic designers only did... things like ~some~ packaging, maybe web design... it never occurred to me that every text book you've ever read (if done well!) was done by an editorial graphic designer; I hadn't noticed that graphic design was all around me.

What you would be doing with Graphic Design is to use those skills you already have as an artist to provide good results. Some say that the difference between art and design, is that in art, the message is subjective, and it doesn't matter if people grasp it or not; while in design, the #1 priority is that people understand what message is being said, without any dobut. In my first year, I found that there were a lot of things I already knew (we were dealing with abstract & structure), but the deconstruction and studying made me AWARE that I knew all that! It was very interesting, and, if anything, it all helped me being a better artist.

There are many different types of Graphic Designers, though. Some of my classmates didn't know how to draw at all, but they were really good with layouting, or typography, or even printing systems (so it's not like you *have* to be a great artist to be a Graphic Designer). There are so many things to choose from...

I don't know if that all explained anything to you, I tend to ramble when it 's stuff I like :P Let's finish it with a Wikipedia quote!

"Graphic design is a creative process – most often involving a client and a designer and usually completed in conjunction with producers of form (i.e., printers, programmers, signmakers, etc.) – undertaken in order to convey a specific message (or messages) to a targeted audience. The term "graphic design" can also refer to a number of artistic and professional disciplines that focus on visual communication and presentation. The field as a whole is also often referred to as Visual Communication or Communication Design. Various methods are used to create and combine words, symbols, and images to create a visual representation of ideas and messages."
      -Wikipedia

(Mind you, our approach may be different from that of other countries [mostly the States], we follow the Bauhaus school line, and we're part of Architecture School rather than Art School, with heavy study of typography and structure.)
