We are all well and Toastmasters is going well for both of us. Earth has just one more speech to reach ACB and I have just one more speech to do in order to reach my CC. Thank you for asking.

I don't know about cities, but I would very much like to visit the Rocky Mountains.
-
Thanks for the invite, but I'm with plenty enough social networks as it is.

Nothing at the moment. This year doesn't have nearly so many good releases as last year.
-
I finally finished reading 'Jude the Obscure'.

Formspring question of the day

I don't think that the world will end soon or even that the extinction of humanity is nigh. However, watching events unfold around the world I do think we are in for a very rough, very unpleasant decade.
A point I would like to make is that, when people speak of the end of the world, most actually mean either the end of our current way of life or the extinction of humanity. Think about it - all the doomsday scenarios that people have come out with lately. Zombies, Plagues, Wars - none of these entail the end of the world. Even the more recent asteroid strikes or climate catastrophes don't entail the total obliteration of the Earth. These events may cause widespread change and prove catastrophic to existing life forms but, as we have seen in the past, even this does not last forever.
Bad things happen - wars, oppression, plague - but none of these things are the end of the world. It may seem that way to those who live through it but the light comes again.
I think the world will end eventually but not until either Earth herself or the sun that warms her reaches the end of their natural life span. Even planets must die one day. -
I don't have any particular questions in mind. I'm happy to answer anything.

The fact that it is over. It hasn't been a good year for us.

Depending on the piece in question, I like it very much.

Very much so, yes. Though, of course, it does depend on the piece in question.

Aaah. You are very welcome, then :-)
-
Your are welcome, though I'm not sure what for?
-
Yes, I am. I take Pariet for chronic indigestion, and Cipramil for anxiety/depression. Well, actually, I take the generic brands of these meds because they are cheaper.

This is a hard one since I really don't own much. I guess my favourite possession would have to be three tall wooden cats that my family bought for me. One is done egyptian style, the others look similar to totem poles. As they are three different sizes, they look lovely grouped together in the corner. Barring some disaster, I will probably have those cats till the day I die.

I was actually too busy to read much last month, so the only thing I read was Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Despite winning by default, this is an excellent and engrossing series. I read somewhere that if 'The Stand' is King's masterpiece, then 'The Dark Tower' series is his magnum opis. I would have to agree with this statement.
