Regarding parenting...my husband is "harder/harsher" on the children then I am or then I want him to be...any tips? Things he could read (short&sweet)?

You might both like to sit down and watch the "Unconditional Parenting" DVD. I know Matt processes things better by watching instead of reading. We just go the DVD...I've heard it's great but we haven't watched it yet.

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and have had an aversion to raw foods during my pregnancy. I'm looking forward to getting back to them after the baby is born. I'm hoping it will help me lose some baby weight, too. Any tips?

I went back to a raw diet within a few weeks of having Lucy and LOVED it. I focused on eating tons of greens...because greens make milk!! Cows eat grass and make milk...and so do we. Get enough good fats and take your vitamins. Just getting enough calories is key. Have a wonderful birth!

Any suggestions for a young couple who wants to live on the road but has no idea how to create an income in order to do so? (I don't want to live like a homeless person! haha.)

Hi! I just watched your tour of the new RV. Could you please talk more on how you organize such small spaces...after all the decluttering is done? Thanks!

I just get rid of as much stuff as possible...that makes it much easier to organize! I use a lot of baskets/boxes to keep things tidy. Other than that, there isn't much too it.

Were you ever worried about formaldehyde in any of your RVs? Thanks :)

No...the RV's we buy are pretty "old" by RV standards. The off-gassing is at a minimum by the time we get them.

It's no more than would be in a typical house/apt that we would rent anywhere else.

In a perfect world, I would love to have no off gassing at all. :)

Do you have any Pagan friends? Have you ever felt drawn to that spiritual path?

Sure! I have lots of friends who are not on the same spiritual path as I am. I love them dearly.

No, I have never felt drawn to anything other than Jesus. I believe that we can all draw truths from other paths, but that there is only one true way that leads to heaven, and that is a relationship with Jesus.

Hi Sara. Curious...as I understand it you are vegan. Do you also not use products made from animals such as leather, wool, fur, etc.? Thank you (love your blog!)

No, I'm not super strict when it comes to that. And I'm not 100% vegan...I do eat "happy" eggs from local sources and goat cheese.

have you & matt always worked for your parents?

No, out of college, we were in full time ministry. We started working for them after that. When we moved to MT, Matt started his own handyman business.

do you wash your fruits and veggies with anything other than water?

Sometimes I wash them in a special rinse, but not usually.

Do you have a favorite diaper bag? What kind of disposables and wipes do you use?

We use a Mountainsmith lumbar pack for a diaper bag.
Huggies natural care dipes and wipes.

Can you discuss more about what your 'corporate' job was b/f you left--working for your parents or elsewhere?

We both worked for my parent's company at the time. Matt was their main operations guy...overseeing the day to day operations of 7 ice cream stores...and the build out of 20+ stores across the Midwest. I did a lot of admin/communications stuff. We took some time off, and now I am back working for them from the road.

What state do you call "home" in terms of Bella's (un)schooling requirements? I'm guessing each state had different requirements as to how they monitor the homeschooling progress. What about taxes?

We will be calling Texas home...due to their awesome homeschooling laws. And yes, each state is different. Texas doesn't monitor at all.

Not sure what you're asking about taxes?

How do you manage baby 'stuff' on the road - with wipes, bibs, cloth nappies, baby clothes needing regular changing ... I think we are pretty minimalist but it still takes up so much space!!!

It actually doesn't take up much space at all for us. Lucy has one drawer with all her clothes and we have one basket with dipes/wipes. We don't do cloth dipes on the road.

Hi Sara! I so very much enjoy your photography. I'm curious..do you edit your photos a lot or do you often leave them as is? Thanks for your endless inspiration!

Oh yes...I'm definitely not a purist when it comes to digital photography. I would never throw something up straight out of the camera.

I don't do much editing beyond color/contrast/tone, but I find it's essential and I quite enjoy the process :)

Hi Sara! What do you use to wash your hair, especially those first weeks when it gets itchy and scratchy while your head adjusts? Did you cover your hair when your slept? And do you recommend salon maintenance where they use string to tie up loose ends

I used diluted Dr. Bronner's (1 part soap to 8 parts water). If you have an itch, you can always put a dab of rosemary oil on it with a q-tip.

I never covered my hair at all...and I don't really "maintain". I've had it professionally maintained once in 3 years. They will do what they want no matter what...and I didn't want them to look perfect anyway :)

What's your opinion on Bach flowers and Christianity? Just wondering...

I guess I have no idea why the two would be contradictory?

I'm still on the fence about vaccinations, and my son is 5 mos. old today. I just read of an outbreak of pertussis in Austin. Does this make you nervous?

No, not nervous at all. It's very rare for pertussis to be deadly anyway. Considering my babe crawled all over everywhere in Austin today...and I'm still not worried, that should say something. Ha!

No...most of the outbreaks are in schools and daycares where kids are on top of each other.

The risks of the vax outweigh the risks of getting them. When in doubt, DELAY!! Do more research, talk with informed moms, and don't let fear guide you.
