Since I'm still friends with my most recent exes (and relatively close with one), and I've been the one to break it off: no, just because I respect them more than that? It would be like "lol I changed my mind, let's try this unsuccessfully again! Also I am across the ocean, it'll be great."

hmmm, this is a hard question. I'm going to answer this with a few points and try very hard not to make an ass out of myself.
1. I hate studio porn. A lot. I think it's ridiculous when people (generally men) claim it's empowering for women, and how it's just a harmless sex fantasy. I read an interesting essay once where someone pointed out that the person watching porn is very rarely imagining that they're the one whose face is getting jizzed on. Also, with a studio there's always that question of if it's really consensual. I never really understood why there's a massive legislative difference between porn and prostitution. When it comes down to it, it's people getting paid to have sex.
2. I don't have a huge problem with homemade porn. I think if it's two or more people who just want to tape themselves having consensual sex, and they want to share that, that's generally harmless.
3. I think people trying to ban porn are ridiculous. That reads rather as trying to treat the symptoms rather than the problem - the fact that people want to watch this demeaning pornography has nothing to do with the fact that it's made, but everything to do with the fact that there's a demand for it, if that makes sense. Banning porn wouldn't get rid of all the other aspects of society that encourage men over and over to demean and use women as sex objects.
I don't really have that concrete of an opinion on porn. It's a really difficult subject and I haven't read enough about it, but I hope that the things I said make at least some sense. If you or anyone else has any thoughts or articles you want me to see feel free to post them as another question, because this is not a topic my mind is firmly set on one way or the other.th -
best thing is the people, probably, to be incredibly sappy and everything. I actually like most of the people here which is more than I can say for most other places. most unexpected: how much I'm enjoying going out and drinking? who is this girl who does things.

I guess the obvious answer is to list my friends, but I still talk to them quite a lot, so for who, it's like, my friends' parents, people I know well enough to talk to IRL but not befriend online, etc. 'What' is weirder though; it's a bunch of things I never thought about until they were gone. So basically it's the feeling of being too warm, the majority of girls in a room wearing pants, American money, Norcal slang, my cats, obviously. I also miss having internet on my phone quite a lot, and walking around downtown and being able to see at least two or three people you know, even if you don't like them.

yeah, you're definitely right about things like that :/ on facebook what I tend to do is get personally irritated about like one thing AND EXTRAPOLATE WILDLY TO JUST HATE EVERYONE without thinking about it? on LJ I have more time to..calm down and actually think about what I say. and I guess in the past I haven't realized that just because someone doesn't reply saying "I disagree", it doesn't mean that people don't disagree and that it's hurtful or comes across as much more serious than it actually is. I am genuinely glad that you brought this up instead of just getting more and more angry with me, and I will try to be more careful/reasonable about what I say in the future :)

I'm legitimately a little confused by this, if only because I don't see myself as edgy at all? like, nothing I say in LJ posts is just for attention/effect. I am definitely full of opinions but never say anything to try to shock or scandalize people :/ It sucks that it comes off like that actually because I DID used to be like that. if you want to show examples I would be more than happy to keep in mind I sound disingenuous in the future, because I really don't want to come across like that. (you can IM me if you want? but you def don't have to. also I'm going to be gone from like 8-9.)

um? I assume that either I know you from IRL or you do not really read my LJ, because I like a lot of things. Having a few problems with something does not mean I don't like it! I really liked Inception, I DID like the Secret of Kells, I liked A Very Potter Sequel, I often talk about bands and TV shows and books that I like. I keep it to a minimum because no one is interested in just WAHRLJDKLS I LOVE THIS SO MUCH LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT IT ALL THE TIME. Is this referring to something specific or do I just "whine all the time?" If you don't like it just un-add me, dang.

Last Saturday I had this dish in Chinatown that was like...beef and pickled vegetable over rice. I was expecting more than one vegetable but got this weird slightly-pickled yet incredibly salty mystery 'vegetable.' Never again.

yep. in the US, we don't have A-levels, which are like exams that you take to qualify for uni? Instead schools ask for SAT/ACT and AP test scores. So yeah, unfortunately you still do have to take the SAT and all that! :(

VLC player. it takes the screenshots at whatever resolution the video is, and you can just hold down shift+s and take like hundreds of screenshots in a row. Seriously VLC player is just the best.
