Aww thankyou! We went star gazing on our last night in Egypt and the stars were incredible, so i took some extras for stock :D then just layered it onto the pic! X

Well noticed :D the reason for this is that during the holiday we kept pronouncing Spain in a really bad Borat accent making it sound like "Span" instead ;) but that of course would never make sense to anyone but me and Steph...

Aww we met them all just randomly! One couple, Emma and James, we spent about 3 days with before they went home (banana boat riding, they'd save us sunbeds on the beach etc!) and then the other couples we met on our last day! Was really lovely though and even swapped numbers with the girl I sat next to on the plane home!

Best thing you can do here is a) practice and see what time of day gives what result, play round with settings and see what gives you what and work that way and b) really really plan the pic down to the smallest detail! Quite often I find locations first, and have a small mental catalogue of them in my head, and I match them up to concepts I think would work with them. I prefer shooting on overcast days because the light is the same everywhere and gives a nice even glow on people's faces! But it's all just trial and error and combining what you know and practice - and even then my shots don't come our how I imagined, but you have to look at it and think "what's the best this picture could look" and try and make it happen!

To be honest, it's happened so gradually that I don't really feel like I've gotten very far - I just took every single opportunity that came my way when I was starting up - even if I didn't think I'd enjoy it or thought I stood a chance at messing up, every opportunity leads to another! I wish I hadnt listened to the "haters" as much as I did when I was younger, but that's part of my personality and what helped me improve by trying to take their comments constructively and filter out the nastiness. But it did put me off posting after a while, I preferred to keep quiet and lay low since no one ever really has a problem when I did that, it's when I start posting alot that naturally it gets going again but in the future I'll just be holding my breath and swimming through methinks! good luck and just make things happen for yourself xxx

Indeed we did, though we talked about it a lot and decided a month apart would be best to gain a new perspective and work out our individual personal issues and figure out what we both needed from each other - and when it was up, we had some big talks about whether we could do those things for each other. It's been a really good thing for us, but of course going back into it nice and slow and don't think it needs to get as serious for a while - for now we're just concentrating on being happy and making it easy for each other. If either of us did a deal breaker (eg cheating etc which neither of us would) then there'd be a showdown im sure but smaller things we're just gonna talk about in a nice friendly way as much as poss. Learning new things every day!!!! But glad the past couple of months are done now and it's back on track! Iain is a wonderful guy, and not someone you can throw away easily :P hehe

Hehe, thankyou!! And yes there are - mainly though because I know what bugs me I try and avoid it whenever I can before it happens, and I can usually tolerate a few times if I can't avoid it straight away. Things would be rudeness, hassling, mosquito bites!!! Haha. But like beyonce sings, "when you surround yourself with positive things, you'll gain prosperity". Been trying to do that as much as I can and so far so good. But hard in someways as I will only get close to a few people, because sometimes seeing people's inner demons as close as you see your own can crush my little bubble of naievty. So some pluses to this but some negatives too!

    12. Rosie

I would say, don't treat it like a business!! Even though all your friends and people you meet are potential clients, if you look at them as such then you will only get so far in my opinion - more and more people are getting turned off by being advertised at and thrown deals at and having everything being made about money - keep it personal, and treat everyone you meet like you would a friend. I don't think I've ever pushed anyone into paying me for anything, or at least I hope I haven't, I don't really like to carry business cards on me because I don't want it to seem like I'm looking to target people into giving me money and booking me. If they want to, they will on their own accord and that's the way it should be - but start with your friends, explain that you want to get your business of the ground and that it would be amazing if they could spread the word of your services. And then let it happen naturally from there :D Good luck! xxx

Hmmm, I wouldn't say I was a perfectionist but I am a very hard worker and high achiever - as long as I do the things I set out to do, it won't always be perfect but I do aim to out-do myself and any competition! In a nice way of course, wouldn't try and hurt anyone and would always help when and where I could, but that's all part of it isn't it - the idea of being the best person possible? It's not good enough for me to be successful, I have to be kind as poss and nice person too. But those things come before success, and it's soooo important that they remain even if the success grows!

I love Tim Walker's "Pictures" and Gregory Crewdson's Twilight is awesome!!!

    18. Rosie

Ooh, and while we're at it can "you" capitalise my name please!! Wait, was that petty? Would have taken me a lot less effort not to say anything, wouldn't it?

hehe aww thankyou :D :D Well, I figured the old one I have on blurb needs updating, and since the questions I get on here are mainly life advice, photography/business advice, and relationship advice, I might aswell make 3 mini books and then one big one which is all three in one book. that way the mini ones can be cheaper if someone wants to learn about photography but not my views on relationships/life etc! so i'll publish it on blurb.com, so far i've done 25 pages on love/relationships and hoping to make it 50 pages total. i can post the questions which will be answered in the book on here though! :D and of course will continue to answer during/after the book is written/published!
