there are a few main points about courtship (geared towards the brother):
- her parents have to know and approve
- your parents must know and approve
- the girl has to know/be generally comfortable with it
- you have to be at a stage in your life where you feel you could commit to a person
- you should be okay with not being the only suitor to a girl
- it's less about pda and more about really getting to know a person for who they are
- show this girl you care about her/are a viable choice
In courtship, however, the suitor can't expect too much from the person he is courting. In the olden days, the girls didn't do much to get a man, it was all their parents' and the suitor's doing. More recently, boys advocate equality in relationships. It's up to you what path you take, but be sure to be clear with the girl! This isn't an excuse to be dating, but rather a discernment for marriage so don't take it lightly.
"Courting is young men and women seeking each other out, under their parents' or guardians' supervision, for the purpose of finding a spouse. Christian courting is the same, except I would add, finding a spouse in the will of God."
Basically, show all the good things about yourself! Don't hide the bad, because she should be able to accept you for all of who you are, because those things will carry over into marriage. A brother once told me that the relationship from a guy to a girl is either a brother or a husband. So until you are married, be a brother to that girl.
Taking all of this into consideration, remember to still have fun as you are not fully committed to this person~
uyyy... this is long. sorry! :D -

I firmly believe in courtship! it's very old school aha. imo, dating is the way you discern if the person is right for you. it's definitely a good, casual way to go about it. plus, its parent-approved! that's the best part (:

i think it was a step above "Conner! senior year was so great. let's keep in touch, kay? stay cool, i love you." i mean, just how many people have a drawing of themselves in their yearbook? when you look back later in life, it will stand out and you'll think "oh, roni drew this of me. it is so cute. she's a good friend"
i have a surprise for you anyways ;P -
