I wait until after Halloween, and then I'll wear them if the high for the day is supposed to be in the 50s or lower. I always love to wear them, but I get sick of the quickly so I try to hold out as long as possible.

I miss blogging! I've just been busy lately- normal december stuff (buying gifts, prepping for next year at work), plus I just got a little sister though big brothers big sisters, I've been working ~30hrs/wk at bath and body works, i'm knitting gifts for some people and making decorations, AND I'm hosting Christmas for my dad's side of the family at my house (40-ish people). And i should be training for my half marathon, too.... So much to do and so little time! I should be back in January, though!

I'm not the best person to ask because I only own one blazer and it's part of a suit set (and not affordable at all!). I will say though that generally speaking since blazers are such structured pieces of clothing it's good to spend a little more on them - get one with a full lining so there aren't and weird lumps and bumps, one where the seams are flattering and whatnot.

I like the blazers I've seen at Urban Outfitters - they are usually in the $50-$70 range but you can always catch a sale. Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe almost always have blazers, but again....it will look like a $20 blazer.

This is a tough question because Anthro carries a lot of different brands - it's not like Express or The Limited where they only carry their own clothes, so everything is cut the same (or at least similarly). Thus there are some brands at Anthropologie that are cut more generously than others.

I would say generally speaking they run a bit big - I typically wear a 6 or 8 if a skirt is A-line and a 10 if it is a pencil skirt, but at Anthro I'm almost always a 6.

You might want to try finding a blogger who reviews Anthro clothing - Roxy and Effortless Anthropologie and Sara at You, Me, and Anthropologie are good places to start. Good luck!

I honestly think skinny jeans/pants/etc can work on anyone, it's just a matter of making the proportions work. Since I have wide hips and a sizable tush, when I wear skinnys I generally wear tops that are a bit longer and hit near the bottom of my hips versus the top. Also, layering on top helps balance out my proportions a lot too - for example, I'll wear a regular-length tee under a jacket or cardigan with a scarf. By creating interest on the top of my body, it draws the eye up versus focusing on my bottom half.

Now, I do like boot cut jeans a lot - I haven't tried any trouser jeans on (ever!), so I can't offer much advice there, but I would imagine they would be flattering - I think I heard on What Not to Wear or Glamour or something that pants are the most flattering when there's a straight line from the widest part of your leg to the ground.

That being said, I've been on the hunt for a pair of bootcut jeans to wear with flats FOREVER. Since I'm short (I'm 5'3", but most of my height is in my torso), when I wear bootcut jeans with flats I think it really emphasizes how short I am, so for now I'm sticking with skinny jeans with flats and bootcut with heels.

I think it's true to some extent - after labor I pack up most summery things in white/mostly white (sundresses, white shorts), but I wear some white things as long as possible (like white jeans! I love white jeans with a navy sweater).

I'm not sure exactly what this is asking, so I'll answer both ways the question could go -

I own a lot of tights, and in tight-wearing weather, I'll wear them almost every day, so I go through a lot of tights that way.

Do I ruin tights with runs/holes/overwear them? No, not too frequently. I stick to high quality tights that are thick, and generally speaking I'm easy on my clothes, so I don't throw tights away very often - maybe 3 pairs a season will end up in the trash.

I haven't ever been a bridesmaid, unfortunately (no sisters or close cousins/aunts, and I'm just now getting to the age where friends are getting married)!

I AM obsessed with weddings though, so I can help you with some suggestions. I really like J.Crew and The Limited's wedding lines, but they can get a little spendy depending on the budget.

I also really like when brides pick dresses from unexpected retailers - Forever 21 has some really cute, solid dresses that can work well and you can dress your whole party for less than $100! Also, Victoria's Secret has a short, multi-way, covertible dress that would look AWESOME on a bridal party.

I don't think you should count out David's Bridal, either - sure, there are some UGLY dresses there, and maybe the customer service doesn't match up with Klienfeld's, but if you and your 'maids are on a budget, you can't beat it.

Another thing I'd like to suggest is to think outside the box - 'maids in patterned dresses are really modern and unexpected, and I've always loved it when I've seen bridal parties in seperates (and your party can ABSOLUTELY wear those again!). Think of the retailers you naturally gravitate towards and check them out - just because a store doesn't have a bridal line doesn't mean you can't just pick a dress you (and your 'maids) love and buy in bulk! Anthro (on sale!), Ruche, and Modcloth might be good places to check out.

If you want some specific suggestions, email me a color pallette and some guidlines (less than $100, strapless only, etc) and I'd LOVE to help! (ashleygettingdressed at gmail dot come).

so far, so good! We've been dating for a while, and have obviously spent a lot of time with each other, so there haven't been any major surprises yet - plus we're both really easygoing, so it makes for a stress-free life. But we've really only lived together for two weeks, and he's been out of town for business for a week, so it hardly counts. Ask me again in a couple months and I'll let you know!

And yes, it is the first time I've lived with a boyfriend. My senior year of college I lived with a platonic friend who was male, so I'm used to living with a boy.

um...I mean, I don't shave my eyebrows or my arms...but I guess I shave the "normal" stuff....

only when I drink regular coke. I don't know what it is about that soda, but it gives me the burps, and bad!

    14. Ashley

Nope, I'm lucky! Every once in a while if I'm wearing tights they might get a little smelly, but generally speaking I've got nice smelling feet

In 1993 there was a very large "100 year" flood that affected most of the Mississippi Valley region (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Flood_of_1993). My family and I were forced to evacuate our home due to rising flood waters with less than 24 hours notice (everyone thought it was normal spring flooding until the levees started breaking). The water ended up peaking 9 feet over the ROOF of our house. We lost almost everything - we were fortunate to have some notice, so my parents packed up some clothes and some photos, but for the most part, everything was destroyed.

My parents, both blue-collar workers with two young children didn't have much in the way of savings, so we lived in a campground for two weeks while we waited for aid. We then lived in a studio apartment for 3 months while my parents looked for a new house on higher ground.

It was a very traumatic experience, especially since I was old enough to be scared, and not old enough to do anything really (I was 6). I hope to never have to experience anything like that ever again - I can only imagine what it would be like to experience a disastor with NO warning like the people in Japan.

      Kimmie, you hate traveling, silly.

I'm going by myself, to visit one of my best friends and former roommates, Sam (a boy. And no, it wasn't weird. And no, my boyfriend doesn't care.). He's getting an MBA right now at Hult in London, so I'll be staying with him for Wednesday-Saturday and early Sunday we're taking the Eurostar to Paris for a few days. I literally have NOTHING planned so far (beside the train to Paris) - I need to get on it!

    17. Ashley

I do have a twitter, but my last name is on there and I talk specifically about where I work on there so I don't have it linked. I'm twitter friends or whatever with a few bloggers, though - I'll add you!

    18. Ashley

Haha...one of our interns and I were JUST talking about this. I have a lot of shoes, but I probably only regularly wear 4 or 5 pairs, but I just can't get rid of them! I just started counting and got to 40 and stopped. So I have over 40 pairs. Which is bananas.

    19. Ashley

I don't - since I have a fairly low overhead (if I make minimum payments on all my bills, it's only about 20% of my income (and just an FYI, I alway pay way more than minimums on loans!)), I'm pretty free to do what I want with my income. I just try to not go overboard. I'm actually at a really good place right now where I'm not spending a lot of money on clothing, but I don't feel like I'm on a shopping ban or anything. I really just focus on living within my means, and I NEVER by things using a credit card - cash or debit only - so I know I'm only spending money I have!

    20. Ashley

I like it! Sure, I don't get too many questions, but the ones I get I do like answering - plus I think for a lot of people the anonymity of formspring (versus an email) makes it easier to ask a question.

I don't really care one way or another if other people stop using it - as long as there are some active users I'm happy!
