My kitchen is actually quite small. I have a stainless steel refridgerator and a gas oven, but NO DISHWASHER!!! We live in a 3 bedroom duplex so our place isn't all that big to begin with. To be completely honest - our kitchen now is the biggest we've had. I'll post some pics of it on the blog tonight!!
My favorite tool in the kitchen, honestly, are my hands. I mix with my hands, I tear lettuce and such with my hands and I really love getting my hands dirty. After my hands I would have to say that my favorite tool is either my 8 inch chef knife that Jason bought for me or the oven. I cook almost everything in the oven - microwave only a few things!!

I would say that you have two options - "Go BIg or Go Home" or "Flirt"!! GBorGH basically means that you just jump in the freezing cold water naked and never look back. Start by just not eating meat. You can add another vegetable to every meal or a handful or nuts in it's place. There are a ton of meat substitutes out there and most taste pretty good, but you have to change your idea of the "normal" meal.
"Flirting" is entirely different. Try a meatless Monday or making one meal everyday vegetarian. Take your favorite pasta dish (the easiest meal to veggie) and trade out the hamburger meat for chopped up crimini mushrooms. I have a few vegetarian recipes under the Yummy Eats link and more are being added all the time. Either way you go don't be afraid to experiment and try new foods or recipes. There is a world of great foods out there - go out and enjoy them!!

I have not always been vegetarian. I became a vegetarian in 2002 after reading John Robbins book 'Diet For A New America' and it changed my life!! My husband is an omnivore, but eats a TON a vegetarian foods because of me and the fact that I do 90% of the cooking. He gets his meat fix when we go out. My girls are both vegetarian. Linsey when she was a little over a year old (same time I switched) and Regan was born a vegetarian. It works for us.

DON'T!! Allow yourself a certain number of chocolate bites everyday. I like having 1 or 2 after lunch and 1 or 2 after dinner. Of course - they are small pieces like a Hershey kiss or the square of a chocolate bar.

I flirted with vegetarianism while we lived in Portland, Oregan in 2002. I officially made the switch some time during that year mainly because I read an amazing book by John Robbins called 'Diet For A New America'. It opened my eyes to many things I had no idea were going on and I just couldn't bring myself to eat another animal after that. I quickly realized how much it effected my health (positively) and that was another motivator for me. I chose to change Linsey's diet then too and have had no regrets. Regan was born vegetarian and Jason is very supportive. I gave up control over fish where the girls are considered because Jason asked me to, but so far they haven't wanted to try it anyway. It's all about give and take.

Most of the time I do. I am really trying to build something out of this blog so I make sure to hit it at least once a day, but my goal is 2-3 times a day. I LOVE writing so blogging is another outlet for me.

Jason and I got married on August 19, 2000. In some ways it seems like a lifetime ago and other ways it seems like a matter of days. Weird...

The hardest part about being married is hving two very differnet personalities both wanting to run the show. It takes effort on both sides to keep things running smooth.
The hardest aspect of my life right now is figuring out how to "make it" doing what I love to do so I can make that my full time job.
