I didn't exactly because at that point I wanted to be Anywhere Else doing Anything Else, buy yes, I think that is normal

I think Riese wrote an essay about this once

"I'm sort of confused, you're acting differently than you were last month. If everything okay?"

i don't think i'm qualified to answer this question because the entire time i've been vegan i've either been working a full time job while writing for autostraddle daily or being a grad student and also a senior editor, so realistically there's nothing i can do that will make me feel rested or like i have the energy to do normal human things. being vegan has made my cholesterol and blood pressure very low and also i think maybe my skin is better or something, idk.

no it's ok because it's like the Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, where if you're not out of control you're not in control

i actually have a lot of feelings about blood donation and the guidelines for it, and i think it's totally true and valid that you're probably a safer candidate than some other people who have been allowed to donate. i'm sorry that you went to the trouble of trying and were turned away, but thank you for making the effort/caring!

based on my circle of friends at least, these interests are not unique to her. it's all gonna be okay.

talk to her and gauge levels of freaked-out-ness. probably she won't be. i'd put it at 85-15 in favor of not freaked out. maybe hold off on telling her her hair smells good or whatever, tho.

if you have other options for the coming year, sure, go ahead. you can also try to contact them and ask why you didn't get in so you can do better next time. alternatively, though, you could think about how you're probably going to live 50 more years and this is only 4 of them, so the degree to which your life will really center around where you go is maybe not as much as it feels right now. unless you're going to yale and joining skull and bones or something, in which case yes, that will probably ensure you're set for life.
