To be honest, I'm in that cycle right now too so I'm right there with you. Before, it took a lot of accountability with my treatment team, and using the support offered to me by friends and family. It's not easy to get out of that cycle. I do know for sure restricting is NOT the way to break the cycle though. I've tried that too many times and it always just makes it worse.

YES. A bit over a year ago it was falling out like crazy, dry, and very brittle. I HATED it. I actually like my hair so to have the one thing I like about myself taken away from me was no fun! Taking pre-natal vitamins really improved my hair and nails though so I recommend taking vitamins!!

When I was at Remuda, the ages ranged from 18 to someone in their 70s. Crazy huh? There was plenty of people in their 30-40s actually. Although at one point in treatment, it did feel like the majority of girls were younger than me (I'm 22).

Definitely Sarah and Emily.

I've never been on a date :/

I think I technically work part time, but I work about 35 hours a week. I do enjoy my job! It's not where I want to end up eventually, but I have such high aspirations, this is a great job for the meantime. I'd love to work in an Asian country with women and children who are abused. Don't ask me how I pulled that one together- it's always been a dream of mine since I was a child. Now I just have to figure out how to make it a reality.

haha actually, the nurses from Finland contacted me because they were doing research or something and came across my videos. They messaged me and asked if I would be willing to do a written interview and a video as well and I agreed. They were really nice :)

aww thanks! YES I get insomnia! I'm on prescription drugs for it now like Ambien and Seroquel so now I can usually sleep most of the night. If I can't sleep, I'll listen to music, sometimes draw or I'll turn the TV on for background noise.
-
I can never sit and watch something without moving around or doing something else simultaneously. It drives my brother mad! He wants my full attention to be on the movie but I get so restless. I think its common among eating disordered people though. It was so funny inpatient when we would try to watch a movie. We never could make it through one and we were all doing other things while watching so in the end, only one or two people were actually still watching the movie.
-
ME TOO. I think things are getting better though thankfully!!! thank you!!!

Let's see...joining an art class, learning piano, or a new language. Creative writing would be fun. I don't know if you have a theater but trying out for the next play and being a part of that would be fun too. A book reading club! haha cooking classes...there's a lot you can do that's not physical!
-
It matters on the book, but yes I do.
-
haha actually I do use a fork for mac and cheese, and then I read the last part. But generally, if I'm eating two things, both needing the same utensil, I don't care if I use the same utensil for both food items.
-
Yes and yes- it's not easy, but my family believes in forgiveness. Plus, knowing he's really sorry about it helps too. Not everyone has that luxury.
-
I usually can figure out what the word means by the surrounding context so I don't use a dictionary, unless I'm truly stumped.
-
I light a candle every night!! It's a vanilla chiffon cake Yankee candle.
-
We have different parents. She's like a foster sister that lived with us for years.

I never intended to reveal my real name, for privacy purposes. But then I went to treatment and people wanted to send me letters and I don't know if I would have ever gotten them if they were addressed to Ragan Mae.
-
mostly, I would consider it a binge if I ate 500-1000 calories. ALTHOUGH, I have had a few binges here and there more around 2000 calories.

Ragan’s Bio
I'm 21 and I've had an eating disorder for seven years. I was recovered for a time before I relapsed last April. I love anything offbeat and unique, I'm exceptionally bad at cooking, and I love studying psychology :)
