When you close your eyes and see phosphenes in the dark of your eyelids (those little light residues that appear when you close your eyes) do they ever form any definite pictures? Any consistent pictures? Have you ever paid any attention to them at all? [13]

VERY interesting question ... i always have them but i never know there is word for them :) they made an image for me but occasionally i found a little game in my subconscious for them .. i do not let them fall and disappear .. with my gaze i keep pushing them up in the air ;) bTW do you know does regular gravity 9.8 g applies on them? just curious ;) again phosphenes NEAT :D

They mostly form geometrical patterns like a kaleidoscope.

I pay considerable amount of attention to them, but they do not form any coherent images. I merely find them fascinating. They're like a Rorscharch inkblot test with the dull/predictable aspect removed.

I used to do that all the time. I could never make anything good though, and when I would try to get a good look at the shape, or try to keep it still, it would drift off lol.

Oh, squiggly line in my eye fluid. I see you lurking there on the periphery of my vision. But when I try to look at you, you scurry away. Are you shy, squiggly line? Why only when I ignore you, do you return to the center of my eye? Oh, squiggly line, it's alright, you are forgiven.

No pattern that I can tell. It's like static on TV.

no consistent pictures... but since you talking about entoptic phenomena, do you know what the floaters are? I love them, you see them with your eyes open, like translucent little balls! I was always amazed by them, since I was a kid, but never wonder what was that.. and one day I found out that it was inside my eyes (it obviously was, but I never thought about) and what those things are... nothing special - vitreous humour -, but still something interesting.. oh, well, I don't know, just wanted to say :b

I have always been interested in that effect. I was transfixed by the light spots as a kid. I would look at a lamp in the living room and then close my eyes over and over again, trying to make the spots change color.

Fast forward 20 years, and no wonder I have a scary glasses prescription.
