It drives me up the wall when you hear of people who self harm or are suicidal are sterotyped as Emo.

All stereotypes are unfair. Its society's way of assuming that everyone who looks the same on the outside is the same on the inside. Or everyone who listens to a certain genre of music acts a certain way. People who listen to rock music get categorized as a bunch of rebellious punks who break the law and have suicidal tendencies when that's not true...I mean I was like that at one point but I'm completely different now and my love for rock music hasn't changed one bit. I also think people classify those who listen to grunge music like Nirvana and AIC to be dirty, drug addicted degenerates...when that's not true one bit, we just know how to appreciate good music. Back when I was dealing with severe depression and self harm, I'd always cover myself head to toe in black, I reflected what I felt into what I wore..and people automatically wrote me off as an emo/goth. I could tell people thought of me differently, it's like once you change your appearance to something outside the norm, you become shunned from the human race. People talk about 'emos' and goths like theyre a different species, when in reality, they just express themselves differently than others. Now that I'm a lot happier than before, I'm not dressing as dark as I used to, and I'm dressing more feminine, and I know somehow people are still going to shove me into some kind of stereotype so that they can judge me and assume they know all about me and not even try and get to know who I am. Sorry for the rant, I doubt anyone's reading this but it's something that's been on my mind a lot and this was a good chance to let it out XD I think all stereotypes are fucking bullshit, they make people feel pressured to fit a bill, or change who they are to be socially
accepted, and then once they do that, they get stereotyped again. And then when they stop living for others and express themselves, people will still find a way to be asshole. Fuck society.

    Metal in general.

No, not all metal bands sing about death and blood and Satan. Infact, the decent ones tend to have lyrics more about important subjects in life with genuine passion and meaning. And a survey explained that actually metalheads are more likely to be very clever as apposed to pop listeners. So suck my metaphorical penis.
