The secret to self confidence is not to overthink. Ego often comes from dwelling on oneself and one's actions far too long, and creates an often false image.

The line's usually about where people tell you "HEY, SHUT UP" - when you're buggin' rather than inspirin', bein' a bragger rather than bringin' your a-game...that's when ego took over an' self confidence has gone too far.

As for my secret? If I told you, it ain't gonna be secret anymore! :D

Someone with self-confidence is very sure of themselves in everything they do. They are aware of themselves and take in the good and bad to make a better person. Someone with an ego only focuses on the good aspects of their personality and refuses to acknowledge the bad.

Ego is just a word for self-confidence with negative connotations. People love being able to turn a positive trait into a negative one, and the English language facilitates it here.
