Do you ever define your friendship when you first met or does it just get better as you live and nurture each other along in time? [11]

It gets better as time goes. The test of time really determines a good and honest friendship; it separates your real friends from the "i-just-became-your-friend-so-you'd-give-me-that-car/T-shirt/computer/money/job/contract friends. My friends and I have been buddies for six years now, and my best friend, since we were five year olds and had bi-focals and buck teeth. She's in London now for her Masters, but we always pick out time to chat and squeal via Skype and BBM. Time really builds friendships.

I define it by both.. sometimes people change as time goes on, whether it's for good or bad.

A true friendship takes time, pure friendship I mean. Plus, it takes solid memories that you both (or your group) won't forget a thing. Like, every time you talk about it, you guys laugh, even that's for the nth time already.

Friendship Isnt really something define-able. People meet, bonds form, friendship grows

No, I never really define friendship.
It's not really a definite moment when it starts or ends, so it's more like a spectrum of familiarity, strong acquaintanceship in which you are eager to engage in, laced with a dynamic degree of trust. And that, that gives it its value.

or maybe they can ditch you after awhile, and just ruin everything.

It just get better as you live. Especially with the hint of trials and challenges, realizing that you guys can laugh about it and take each other as is and do almost everything together.

I have never defined my friendships. If it's going good, we can notice and there's no need to actually say 'okay, now we're friends'.

True friendship can go long periods of time without you speaking and never question the friendship itself.

nope , thats placing a pretty heavy obligation and setting some sort of expectation ! it grows to a stage where you can naturally define it ^_^
