Debate #154: Can a male become a feminist? [25]

All Responses

  1. Ye Olde Nick of Metal

A man fighting for women's rights? Oh, the horror...

    ...of reality.

  2. Morgue

Duh. A feminist is someone who supports women's rights, last I checked.

  3. Sidd Sharma

Anyone who doesn't make sandwich jokes is a closet feminist.

  4. Applejack (Jasmine Constance Apple)

(( Not even gonna have Applejack consider this. There's no debate here; as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Male_feminists this list will clearly show, there have been plenty of extremely influential male feminists. ))

  6. Aatif Syed

why not? surrender to the dominant sex - I mean, lets face it, women are just better at everything

Also this is extremely sexist. Just saying.

  9. RoboPilgrim

Absolutely. Feminism is about gender equality so it concerns the rights of both genders. Plus you don't have to be a woman to support women's rights, in the same way you don't have to be gay to support gay rights.

  10. Artris Danat

((It just occured to me that Artris can't be Iron Man.

He'd build the armor and Rosaya would 'borrow' it forever.

That's why he'd build her her own.))

  11. Maria

Of course. It solely relies on a person's free will to do so, not their gender.

  13. Happy the Player

Nope. In other news, straight people can't support gay rights, and there were no white abolitionists.

  14. Jen Moulaisson

You can become anything you want to become, it's as simple as that.

I don't see why not? Being feminist isn't about being female, it's about womans RIGHTS... People can believe in God without BEING an all powerful deity, right?

  18. Morton Fox

You can be anything you want to be, sonny.

  19. Lauren Faust

Well...duh, yeah, of course, what kind of dumb question is that?

  20. Pinkie Pie (Pinkamena Diane Pie)
  21. Crabbie

Yeah sure whatever makes them feel good about themselves

  22. Emma

Um yeah. Straight people are for the gay rights movement, white people are for non-racism, rich people are for the Occupy movement, why can't it work that way for feminism?
