People also stare at their pets, and pretend to know what they're thinking, and occasionally, they might be right..
Emotions, and, moods, such as anger, being mentally stressed, attentiveness, being on guard, excitement, boredom, contentment, depression, joy, fear, thoughtfulness, and sadness, are usually visible in a persons overall body-language, actions, and expressions.
Sometimes it's /also/ possible to predetermine a persons actions, or guess their intentions, based on expressions, and body language.
A persons physical state of being, is usually pretty easy to read also. A few examples are:: Being tired, hurt, alert, energetic, or half asleep.
Read the person, know the mind. -
Yeeeah. I don't like babies...
But uh, why is there a random article about marshmallows linked to this fact? o.o -
Actually, babies may be reading auras. They look over people's heads a lot, as I've noticed.
-
They also taste great with a lemon glaze.
-
I like cereal marshmallows.

Babies are badass.
-
Well they shouldn't because mind-reading doesn't exist.

My niece and nephew is like the Long Island Medium?!?

They are also skilled bargain hunters and can find you great prices on cereal marshmallows.
-
Not that they ever do anything about it.
-
holy mother of a duck
-
Or they just look at someone's face and can tell how they feel...?
-
Ooh :O Well I guess they have to be since they can't fend for themselves.
-
That would actually be called being empathic, or being an empath.
-
Babies find it easy to read adult emotions because adults only have two moods around babies: OOOO COOTIE COOTIE WOO and WILL ANYBODY MAKE THIS THING STOP CRYING ALREADY!?
-
How did they test this?
-
babies can do a lot of things that we 'adults' don't think they can do. It's called you take a Child psych development class. You learn lots.

I prefer dead babies...
I suppose emotions are the very first things we pick up on.
No. It's being intuitive. Adults could do it but they're too numbed by "reality" to bother.
Of course, babies are amazing. Really. Amazing.
Or maybe it just has something to do with survival. That's cool and all but can we talk about why you have a link about where to buy 95 pounds of marshmallows...
